guest
I went to OD yesterday when they opened to purchase the $99 HP BTO desktop (really $199 with shipping) and I got caught by the system issue (CST timezone). I was told to come back yesterday afternoon to place the order since things would be calmed down. When I returned they said the whole corporate system was down and to come back in the morning. When I called today they said that they were sold out. SOLD OUT?!, it is build to order; maybe HP cut the deal short after all. I spoke with the manager and I was very polite while explaining my story. He said that he would work a deal for me an another bundle if I would like so I settled on the next cheapest, the $299 emachine. BTW, this package had much better specs. He gave me $50 off to make it $250 AR + tax versus the original deal of $200 (w/ship) AR + tax. Needless to say, I am very pleased with how they handled the situation. They know how to make their customers happy. I write this to let people know that some of the sob stories of yesterday do have happy endings and also to make people think twice about the OD boycott <putting flame suit on>. Of all the other stores, I have had this kind of "customer first" treatment at only CC and OD.
