The $229 iPod with $50 GC is also offered at Toys R Us. Beware this is a lesser version of the original 5G iPod as it is missing the back camera and the wrist-strap (not important) If your son was expecting a color other than gray, or the camera, this will not be what you are looking for.

Sure enough they posted more at midnight but I still missed it because Frys.com is toooo slow.

$77 LG BR player at Fry's. Normally sells for $199. Looks like a good player.

Things go crazy fast on the fry's site and people in Houston are so fanatical about Fry's I dare not even try to get in line for one. I will keep my eye on it tonight since they might release some more for online sales at midnight. From what I found out they sold out in 20 minutes or so last night (this morning). I bought the $300 laptop they had a couple months back but it will cost me about $60 in upgrades to get it close to the same specs as this one and it has Windows Vista (eck).

Did this board totally miss the boat on the Fry's $300 laptop? I didn't see mention of it anywhere. It is an HP g61-321nr with a dual core athlon, 3 GB memory, and an ATI HD4200 video card. I went to OD yesterday when they opened to purchase the $99 HP BTO desktop (really $199 with shipping) and I got caught by the system issue (CST timezone). I was told to come back yesterday afternoon to place the order since things would be calmed down. When I returned they said the whole corporate system was down and to come back in the morning. When I called today they said that they were sold out. SOLD OUT?!, it is build to order; maybe HP cut the deal short after all. I spoke with the manager and I was very polite while explaining my story. He said that he would work a deal for me an another bundle if I would like so I settled on the next cheapest, the $299 emachine. BTW, this package had much better specs. He gave me $50 off to make it $250 AR + tax versus the original deal of $200 (w/ship) AR + tax. Needless to say, I am very pleased with how they handled the situation. They know how to make their customers happy. I write this to let people know that some of the sob stories of yesterday do have happy endings and also to make people think twice about the OD boycott <putting flame suit on>. Of all the other stores, I have had this kind of "customer first" treatment at only CC and OD.
