Popo
I got to WalMart at a little after 4 a.m., and was first in line, though a few other people were there earlier, waiting in their cars. I waited until 5, and ran directly to the laptops. I managed to snag one. Then, I got Burnout 3 ($8), a few $3.44 DVDs, a $20 RC Hummer, and a $14 256 meg SD card. I would've got a GBA SP, but as it turns out, they were selling the older version without the new, backlit screen, so I wasn't interested. I put it all on lay-away. Only problem is, I only have until the 16th to get it all off. Does anyone know if you can choose to pay the remainder of only certain items on your layaway order and have the rest of it taken off? Also, is the date negotiable, if say, you spoke with a manager and asked?
ryka
I got to Walmart at 3:50. I was 200th in line. I did get everything I wanted except the cabbage patches but I figured I wasn't going to get them. I have never gone to a WM before on BF and I doubt I will ever go again. I almost got into a fight. I was pushed and almost run over with a cart. People cut in line when they opened the doors. Next year I will buy what I can online and forget about what I can't. whafs8
Our WM has pretty strict rules you have to get it out by the 16th I love our WM. They did not close and you could get all the toys before 5 just not pay for them. The associates were very helpful and everytime I asked where something was they would show me. I know people talk bad about wm. But our small town Super Walmart the employees are always friendly and at least seem to enjoy their jobs.
TheLegend
I went into my WalMart at 4am with my wife 10 minutes behind me. I staked out the HP desktops ($398) which were palleted at the front entrance (they said 40.... but only 39 were actually there... hmmmmmm.), while the wife headed for the electronics area to get in the HP laptop line ($378) which was already stretching into the sporting good area (they had 90 available). Everything was great until two minutes before 5am when the store manager announced that the blitz was on, and I started feeling like I was about to get piled on from behind (by two women in their late fifties no less). Got to squeeze by the woman in front of me and covered the bottom one of the stack I was aiming for. Then told anyone that was trying to climb over me they were about to get dumped (I played defensive tackle in college). Meanwhile..... in the back of the store my wife started out about 55th in line... which soon became 80th in line (because of the line cutters). Fortunately some employees had come over with a ladder to get something off the top shelf and when they were informed of the cutters they got a hold of a store manager who stepped in with a couple of other employees and ran out anyone else who tried to cut in. She ended up scoring one of the last laptops My 9-year old daughter also survived the Game Boy line picking up my blue GBA SP. Other than that... the only ugly incident was a brief fight that broke out near the MP3 player line over a tv set , but it was taken care of quickly by employees and some customers. Missed our record of 45 minutes getting in and out (by only 4 minutes). We ended up scoring more than what we had planned to get (and spending a lot more). But it was very rewarding hunt. Heard from my stepson later who was working parking lot security at another WalMart they had two large fights, and caught over a dozen shoplifters. Popo
Thanks for replies. Does anyone know if WalMart would extend the deadline of the 16th for paying off layaway, if I were to ask a manager?

nellyhill
I got to walmart at 1:15am and there were already at least 50 people in line. When the doors opened at 5 most went to electronics for the laptop while I went to toys. I grabbed 2 RC Cars, 2 Cabbagepatch Kids, 2 Little People, 2 Carebears, a dress-up kit, and some board games to PM. I was the first to check out and was pulling out of the parking lot at 5:23am. Off to Sams for the sheets then to Sears for the comforter. Sears only had ugly ones so off to B&BW. Got the walflowers then off to Pennys for the globe. Radoi Shack was out of the blue tooth thing but oh well. Target was much slower then I expected at 7:15. Then I came home and went to sleep. I was in bed by 8:30. shanni
Thanks for replies. Does anyone know if WalMart would extend the deadline of the 16th for paying off layaway, if I were to ask a manager?Mine has done it before, but only if my balance owed is really low, I ask them to hold onto it a little longer so no one can peek at the gifts.
