decafmom Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Well, I hit Meijer this morning at 4:30 to be sure to get the iPod Shuffle. Thankfully I got one, but that was the most unorganized mess I've ever seen. I hate to see what it's going to be like there tomorrow. They said they refused to tell where the Shuffles were going to come out at b/c they didn't want a mob. I asked if they didn't expect a mob of MAD people who had been there since 4:30 when people who walked in the front door at 6am got the deal. Following that they agreed to bring the Shuffles back to the electronics dept and hand them out there. Even still, I had to force my way to the front of the crowd regardless of the fact I had been there first. A lady walked up and said she didn't care that she just got there, and took an iPod. I guess that's the one thing I can't stand are the rude people! They also had their milk gallons B1G1F, so that was nice. :)
scrappynik Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I've been back from my Meijer for over an hour now. It was NOT chaotic at all! Everything was out and you could grab it and then just wait til 6am to checkout. I got what I wanted (except the Pepsi).
DLM Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Back from Meijer in Columbus as well. Got the 20" FS TV for my son. It was crowded but not too bad - they just didn't have enough registers open. Only about 10.
decafmom Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 They had everything wrapped in the black plastic and they didn't even know what was in them until they unwrapped them. There were customers all over the place opening the wrappers themselves to be able to get what they wanted. The employees were unable to tell anyone where anything was. Their reply was "You'll just have to walk around and look." I felt bad for them b/c they didn't know, and I know they were tired of being asked.

They had tons of the tvs all over the store at my location. I'm hoping for the tv/dvd combo at WM tomorrow!
billcsho Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I went to the one on Zeeb Rd at Ann Arbor at 5:40am. There were probably only a double dozen people shopping. I got all the toys I want and left within 30min. No waiting inline at all.
mitchandalisha Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I got in line at 5 am for the apple ipod and I was 18th in line. It was VERY organized and very fair. I got an ipod because I heard they had 61 and the cashier in the electronics department was very nice. I was very pleased and I thought Meijer did a great job!!!
