Gporter34 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=20274You may be able to get some info here or here:http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=19037I will be getting the Brother at WM because I have used them before and they seem to do great for the money. I already have a Singer so this will be a back up for me.
daz Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I was wondering which to get for my wife, I talked to my mother (who makes her living sewing, she has about 30 grand in machines) and she said if you plan to use it on a weekly basis or sew anything heavy (jeans, denim that type of thing) go ahead and spend 100-150 more and get a singer or even kenmore from sears. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Ariel Posted November 22, 2005 Author Posted November 22, 2005 See thats what I'm thinking as well but don't have a clue which to get. I want to mainly use mine for quilting.
Gporter34 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I make my money sewing and quilting and the Brother has always been great for that. I like the stitch function on it and it seems to be worth the money. I don't think I would make much money if I spent 30 grand on sewing machines, seeing as how I mainly do clothes, quilts, dolls, home decor, and formals during prom season. I have the Singer from WM on BF two years ago and I use it alot. The Brother I had before lasted about 6 years with almost daily use. Always remember that the way you care for the machine contributes alot to the life of it. Always make sure it's oiled and serviced and you should be fine.
