Melissa Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 TRU and Target are my main stores to hit on BF. This will be my first time out and I'm wondering which one I should go to first. Is one usually more crowded than the other??
ryka Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Well I would go to TRU first cause they have early bird specials. Target is just having a 2 day sale.
ReillyCheyenne Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I have worked at TRU for 5 years on BF and I can tell you it will get very crowded very fast. Last year I was a key carrier behind the registers in electronics and if I came from behind them I could not go anywhere for all the people standing in line
snakeswiff Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Yup I agree...TRU first.....you'll be glad ya did....that place is a nut house...better to just go get it over with!!
billcsho Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 My stratagy is to find out which store carry most of the items you want from both store. Go to that one first and do price match on the items on sale at the other store.
Mommie2one Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I wanted to go to Walmart first as they open at 5am but I really need the GBA SP bundle at Target. They open at 6am. Don't think I would get it if I do that though. So I'll have to suck up some of the deals at Walmart to get that bundle for my daughter.
Miranda1313 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 yeah I think they are rigth, I would go to TRU first, I would get in line early too, then run to get the things you want and haul booty to Target, especially if what you want at TRU is more worth it then what you want at Target. What do you need from each place? Miranda
lesliepear Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 TRU and Target are my main stores to hit on BF. This will be my first time out and I'm wondering which one I should go to first. Is one usually more crowded than the other??I'd hit TRU first. You can get a price adjustment at Target, so you can get stuff before Friday and then just drop in for a price adjustment.
Melissa Posted November 22, 2005 Author Posted November 22, 2005 From TRU I wanted to get the BOGOF Magnetix, a Bratz doll for $9.97, Cinderella movie for $12.99, and the Polly Pocket bus bundle for $29.97. At Target I want a disco light for $10, 2 of the Magic Glow Doodle Bears for $18.88 ea., 2 scooters for $19.00 ea. and a Clue game for $7.49.
jtolpin Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 FWIW on Clue/Sorry/Life for $7.49 at Target: There was a $30 rebate on games this week, in the Sunday paper... each one of those is eligble for $3 :) Jason
brana Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Melissa--- Just to let you know, Cinderella is at CC for $8.99, and Walmart is a good place to PM!!!!!
Jacquelyn11 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Last year WM and TRU sales were available Thursday afternoon on line. I don't remember trying Target last year, but with these sales not being such a secret anymore, it's worth a try! Good luck shoppers! Jacquelyn
Melissa Posted November 22, 2005 Author Posted November 22, 2005 Hey thanks, brana! The only thing is, the closest Circuit City is about an hour south of me, while the other stores I'm going to are 30 minutes west of me, so I doubt if our Wal-Mart would PM that one.
KBsDarling Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I wanted to go to Walmart first as they open at 5am but I really need the GBA SP bundle at Target. They open at 6am. Don't think I would get it if I do that though. So I'll have to suck up some of the deals at Walmart to get that bundle for my daughter. We want the GBA as well. The ad says shop online on Tday so hopefully its there. Also I have had target give rainchecks on door buster items the last few years. Would LOVE if that trend continues. Especially since it isnt a door buster sale really anymore
emptynest-2 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Call WM and ask the manager if they will PM on BF. It was reported yesterday 11/21/05 on http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=1334864that Walmart would price match on Black Friday.
KBsDarling Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 i am thinking the GBA will be next to impossible to price match as it is a bundled idea which makes it a gimmick in Wm's view
Melissa Posted November 22, 2005 Author Posted November 22, 2005 i am thinking the GBA will be next to impossible to price match as it is a bundled idea which makes it a gimmick in Wm's viewI think you're probably right. It has to be the exact same item.
yogiyb Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Not sure if they still do this but last year at TRU you had to have a copy of the ad in order to get them to price match. Just a tip.
