Radio shack virus protection

My mom went to radio shack in warren ri for me to grab me the mcafee Internet security software. They had them but the sales associate told her the only way she can get it for 9.99 is by buying the laptop pictured above it. I have read and re-read the ad but do not see how that possible. An I missing something?

OMG...sounds like she had a genius sales rep like mine. If it's this one try doing ship to store for free shipping.

 

I'm not sure if they're trying to upsell or just genuinely didn't train/educate sales people but the lady at my store tried the same line with gps accessory bundle and I had her scan it anyway hoping I was right since didn't take print ad with me. It worked and she seemed almost upset by it and wasted an additional 3 minutes of my life reading word for word off screen why I should spend another $5 on warranty for a carrying case.

I bought it off the website for $10 so they were wrong.

 

They actually had some decent deals surprisingly. It sucks that they charged 6 bucks to ship it but eh I can live with it.

Agreed- and MUCH better. I was reading an article yesterday that McAfee itself is infected with viruses. At least it's finally been published, I've suspected it for a long time.

I agree completely don't ever buy anti virus. Avast, Microsoft, and to a lesser degree avg are way better. Free also.

I forwarded my complaint to corp but have not heard anything back. I don't think I'll hear back either
