kelemvor Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 (edited) Figured I'd start a post for everyone wanting to discuss the various non-Apple laptops. The one on the front page is a 2nd gen and only an i3 so not all that great of deal IMHO. Lots of others inside though. In order by price... AMiklosovic Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 HP - $499 3rd Gen Intel® Core? i5-3210M - 15.6" screen size, 8GB DDR3 memory, 750GB hard drive If I recall, this one is there new "Envy" line? What do people think of it? I am considering purchasing myself a laptop (or ultrabook) and wondered how good their "Envy" line of laptops looks, as Office Max also has 1 or 2 of them also. HP - $529 3rd Gen Intel® Core? i5-3210M - 17.3" screen size, 6GB DDR3 memory, 750GB hard drive HP - $629 3rd Gen Intel® Core? i7-3632QM - 14" screen size, 8GB DDR3 memory, 1TB hard drive These are the other 2 Envy Laptops they are selling. Is it best to just get the i7 for $629, verse the i5 for $499? Is the extra $130 worth having an i7 over an i5 (and the extra 250G HD space)?
bluebear Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 StationChief has been nice enough to provide us with comparison charts of all the electronics. http://blackfridaycharts.com
AMiklosovic Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 WOW, that is VERY helpful! Unfortunately, there are only 5 laptops that come up at the moment...I'll have to check back on that chart later. 100 Cudo's for him/her making that!
racerfan Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 There is also the Toshiba i7 at Staples for $579 I think that is a really good deal. jaymacfla Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Best Buy's Laptop lineup has suffered ever since their Sony contract ran out. Remember the Vaio with the Bluray/DVD combo for $499?
DivaOfDeals Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Please elaborate why the front page one is not good - I was planning on camping for that and two other items. I compared the specs to the Lenovo and Asus and was under the impression it was much better. I have a $400 limit on that laptop, and a $200 limit on the second one (was going for the Lenovo). Was also going for the front page tablet. Should I be going somewhere else instead?

Not sure what was said about the Samsung bundle, but Samsung is one of the best brands and is the best under $400 laptop.. HOWEVER MANY JUST SAY HOT PRICE... but we do not knw the prices yet! Do not count them out of the deal, however at this time the samsung is the best.
