Figured I'd start a post for everyone wanting to discuss the various non-Apple laptops.

 

The one on the front page is a 2nd gen and only an i3 so not all that great of deal IMHO. Lots of others inside though.

If I recall, this one is there new "Envy" line? What do people think of it? I am considering purchasing myself a laptop (or ultrabook) and wondered how good their "Envy" line of laptops looks, as Office Max also has 1 or 2 of them also.

These are the other 2 Envy Laptops they are selling. Is it best to just get the i7 for $629, verse the i5 for $499? Is the extra $130 worth having an i7 over an i5 (and the extra 250G HD space)?

WOW, that is VERY helpful! Unfortunately, there are only 5 laptops that come up at the moment...I'll have to check back on that chart later. 100 Cudo's for him/her making that!

There is also the Toshiba i7 at Staples for $579 I think that is a really good deal.

Best Buy's Laptop lineup has suffered ever since their Sony contract ran out. Remember the Vaio with the Bluray/DVD combo for $499?

I compared the specs to the Lenovo and Asus and was under the impression it was much better. I have a $400 limit on that laptop, and a $200 limit on the second one (was going for the Lenovo). Was also going for the front page tablet. Should I be going somewhere else instead?

The laptop on the front page is a good deal for the money, don't listen to them.

I'm camping out right now looking trough the laptop deals myself. Not sure what was said about the Samsung bundle, but Samsung is one of the best brands and is the best under $400 laptop.. HOWEVER MANY JUST SAY HOT PRICE... but we do not knw the prices yet! Do not count them out of the deal, however at this time the samsung is the best.
