disneytati Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Hi, guys! I know doorbusters (specially electronics and toys) are gone in very little time. But what about the other stuff, like clothes... Holiday stuff... Food... How long do you think they will last?
joann Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Depends on the deal I guess. Last year at target I wanted to get the girls holiday tee's. By the time I got through the opening rush and found out where they were they were gone.

aolson Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Really??? I thought the rush was only for electronics...Nope - huge rush on clothes. I remember one yr I wanted the 8$ jeans at Walmart - all gone except for a few. And the athletic style pants for boys for 4$, almost all gone...
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Depends on the sizing too. My husband is in the popular mens size 34 waist and it always seem they go first. I want to get a pair of jeans for him and the pajama pants at Walmart
sperdue Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Good thing about clothes at walmart, they're already on the rack, not hidden in palets like electronics!! I got to the 24 hr walmart early last year and scoped out the sale items on the rack and had them before the doorbusters began!!
love2beurwifey Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 yeah they usually have the clothes on there too

KBsDarling Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 But couldnt you go back at any point after BF and say "opps grandma bought the wrong size" and exchange? Is getting the right size that day needed?
sperdue Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Oh, my!!! Another reason to go to Walmart... What about my $149 PC at BB????? I don't know what to do.... I know right!! Choices, choices choices!!I want the laptop at BB, so WM may get put on the backburner this year, unless I can convince my friend to p/u the items I want!! :)
Guest Deals4Me Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 There was a group of 20 women in line behind me, and I was probably 10th in line, there JUST for clothes!
snikerfitz Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Last year wally world had jeans for 5 bucks a pair and they was out of them within 20 mins. I kept complaining about it and they ended up marking some other brand (a better one) down because they didn't get but about 2 buggy loads full.
sigrist_2000 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Steve and Barry's has great prices on clothes...typically 9.98* or less for everything...jeans, shirts, shoes, jackets, coats, sportswear... *may just have been for the grand openings...but as right now its 7.98 in ohio
vonnyb Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Yup, I am looking at hitting walmart up for some jeans for my husband.

I drove over an hour and a half to go there a few weeks ago (to Huntsville AL). They didn't have the 7.98 sale, but everthing in the store was 9.98 or less. I got like 5 hoodies, 3 coats/jackets, a Tshirt a pair of jeans and with tax it was under $80! Whatta bargain!
leefamily23 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Are jeans usually under $10 at Steve and Barry's?? My husband needs some for work- and they'll get ruined the first time wearing them. So, I don't want to invest money in the work ones too much.

mesarobins Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 But couldnt you go back at any point after BF and say "opps grandma bought the wrong size" and exchange? Is getting the right size that day needed?Depends, I bought BF priced jeans in several different sizes because I wasn't sure which one would fit my dd. When I tried to exchange after Christmas they told me I had to return and re-buy. This year I will have dd go and try on beforehand so I know the "right" size and it will not be a present. If you want to try this clarify policy beforehand.

So, I don't want to invest money in the work ones too much.If you want to get some good deals on jeans, try the local salvation army, goodwill, or other thrift store. I have gotten many deals on jeans for $1 or $2 a pair. Most are in good condition, while others have some small nicks or tears in them. If they are going to get ruined the first time wearing them, check out the thrift stores for him. Just my opinion based on my own experience. ND
leefamily23 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I actually am a heavy thrift store shopper. However, our local one's don't ever have men's jeans in any size close to what he takes. He takes a 34 now and it seem pretty popular.
shopping mom Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Good thing about clothes at walmart, they're already on the rack, not hidden in palets like electronics!! I got to the 24 hr walmart early last year and scoped out the sale items on the rack and had them before the doorbusters began!! I have done the same thing, but last year our Wal-mart had that brand and style put away with all the other doorbusters. Oh well, I still got what I needed, and I am going back for more.
disneytati Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 I want some clothes at Target... and some at JCPenney... But I guess I'll go to BB first, to get the emachines PC for $149.
brownlands Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Wow, I kinda expected the clothes to last a little longer than the other stuff. Good to know!
ebony0421 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 The jeans that Walmart will have on bf go quickly. Some people just grab a bunch and check for sizes later. It almost look like that bridal shop that has a sale once a year.
