crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Anyone have any good ideas for a girl who is 10, has tons of stuff, and asks for nothing but a golf cart? (Her sister has a gator but she is too big for it now and can't drive it. We live in a small sub-division on the lake and lots of people own golf carts so she thinks she needs one)
cherry33778 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 How about a golf video game? I have a nephew who's 9 and it's hard to pick gifts out for him too, usually I try to think of something that he doesn't have. Things like a bike, video game, or board games. So good luck!
crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Thanks...she has a play station but does not play it. She is getting a new bike from Santa as she has outgrown hers. This age is really hard as she is too young for some things and too old for others.
Kandy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 she wants the golf cart to ride in the neighborhood what about a Go-Cart
crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Yes she wants it to ride in the neighborhood. I am afraid for her to have a Go Cart...they tend to go a little faster than a golf cart... I just hope to find something that will make her as equally happy on Christmas morning that has nothing to do with driving...hahaha...she doesn't pay enough attention on her bike so I can only imagine her on a golf cart or go cart....
Kandy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 electric scooter, but that requires driving skills http://www.byxe.com/productimages/main/SLE-500.jpg http://store1.yimg.com/I/yhst-14938104255359_1871_1374368
crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 oh my...I am sure we would be in the ER by 9 am on Christmas morning. Bless her heart she is just not too coordinated...
Angelique Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 My 9 yr old dd (10 in Feb) loves animals (as do most of the girls her age here) so I am getting her a furReal pup. She loves her GBA and this year she is getting a Nintendo DS with Nintendogs.
crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 I have heard of the Nintendogs...but have no clue what it is...can you explain a little about it? thanks so much
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I was going to say a scooter too! A few of my neighbors have them and they are so cute. I had a Honda one growing up. (Bigger model though). I loved it
thebusylife Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 If she loves animals, she'd love the Nintendogs! We don't have one, but checked them out online and apparently they are quite the "in" thing!
Kandy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I have heard of the Nintendogs...but have no clue what it is...can you explain a little about it? thanks so much This is a game for the Nintendo DS. Imgetting it for my DD who's 12. From the take I see on it , its like a Vitural Pet.
crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 It sounds like she would like it....I am definately going to check into it. How much are they?
Mugglemom Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 The Nintendo Ds runs about $130, the "dogs" game is anywhere from $29-$39, depending on where you look. Toys R Us has a bundle right now for the Ds and the Dogs game for $149. But you have to go to the store, Amazon has it listed for way more, check it out.http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000BB5684/qid=1132089153/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-9227257-5493404?v=glance&s=videogames&n=507846 My daughter is 10 and she's not really into toys so this year she's getting a digital camera and a scrapbook kit, a Fly pentop computer (very cool)http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00099EBHK/qid=1132089262/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-9227257-5493404?v=glance&s=imaginarium&n=507846 , and rollerblades.
Angelique Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 We ordered our Nintendogs/DS bundle from buy.com for $149. Kmart had some the other day, I saw some at GameStop in the mall, also. Supposedly Target and ToysRUs also have them, but I've never seen them there. The bundle comes in Teal or Pink. Or you can buy the DS ($129) and game ($29) seperately.
missyjane Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 My 9 year old daughter wants a video now, a video camera, i-dog, alarm clock for her room, clothes, laptop -(yeah like that's gonna happen). I thought that this might give you a good idea. Atleast most of them would keep you out of the emergency room.
peanut92973 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 what about bratz dolls and al the stuff they have my daughter is 10 and likes the bratz she also wants the video now.
crystalhicks Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 We have the video now and yes, she loves bratz. Thanks for all the suggestions. Hopefully I will find some cool stuff for her BF!!!
Firemansgal311 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I have an offbeat idea: how about that new 20 questions game it is a blast hubby and I stood in the aisle in toys r us for nearly 30 minutes playing with them. They are the coolest things our 8 and 11 yo will definately be getting the pocket size in thier stockings and santa may bring mom and dad the tabletop version too. Your daughter and all of her friends will be amazed at how this thing reads your mind. I think Target has them on sale this week 25 for the tabletop and 10 for the pocket versions. Mandy TX
Guest all2tired Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 That sounds really interesting. Maybe I'll get 2 pocket versions for my kids.
me2 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 The 20 questions game is a blast. I bought the smaller version for a car trip last summer and it occupied a 13 y.o. , a 9 y.o. and a 5 y.o. for hours.
cakimmy Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Well I have two suggestions but not sure of your price range. 1. Ipod shuffle (or some sort of Ipod) 2. Digital camera My cousin (10 yrs old) got the shuffle for her bday and the my family (me, mom, sis) are getting her the digi cam (maybe the 89.99 easy share from target). Her brother who is 9 is also asking for an Ipod for xmas. HTH
2apples Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I teach fifth graders an d alot of the girls are into animals. Barbie has a new vet. Barbie that has a dog and also an interactive dog. My girls are also into shopping, so a gift card might be a good thing.
