Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 My daughter wants a Gameboy SP. I had planned to get it for $48.88 at Walmart, but then I see Target will have them for $68.88 (car adapter, case, and super mario advance 2) with it. Which is the better deal? She currently has a regular GameBoy Advance system, but obviously no accessories for the SP. She did say she wanted super mario games. Im not sure now where I should go! She would need a case for her Sp. Would you go for the Walmart one or Target one?
ravi7791 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Target. The game and the extras are worth atleast $25.
sigrist_2000 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 target...cuz trying to fight for the 48 dollar one will be a pain in itself...and if you bought all those other items that target has it would be way more than 68.88...target is better...especially if your daughter wants all that
RossMAN Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Target has the better deal:Target isn't as crazy/busy as Walmart is, so this makes it easier for you.Game, case and car adapter for an extra $20 is a GOOD DEAL!I've heard Super Mario Advance 2 is the BEST Mario game for the GBA.
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 I hate to have to pay the extra $20, but I am leaning towards Target. I had planned on buying a case for the SP on BF after (hopefully) getting a SP. Shoot, instead of waiting in a nice warm store, I will be stuck outside freezing in line! LOL.
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Thanks guys. Appreciate the insight. Im not familiar with the whole BF thing as its my first time out. I've never heard how crazy Target gets so if it opens at 6am, I should be there by 3am? Guess you do a mad dash to electronics from there. I'll make sure I wear my tennis shoes. Haha

Hahaand maybe some hockey gear too
hpowers Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 My Target is crazy! They line up all the way out the parking lot.
jszulis Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Our Target is crazy too but don't plan on heading to the electronics for items there. A lot of times they have them spread out over the store. Two years ago they had the stereo sets in women's clothing on a pallet. It's nuts...but so much fun..
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Crap. I don't want to hear that! Do you think I should be there by 2am and sit in the car till people come? I hate to go to Target and not get one because I showed up too late or because I wasn't aggressive enough running to the electronics department (that is where you think they have them right?) They just opened up a new Target less than a mile from me. Im thinking to go there. maybe people don't know its opened yet? Just opened 3 weeks ago.

That reminds me of last year when we went to the Thanksgiving day sale at Kmart. We were after the Sp. They opened the doors and my daughter was in front of me and people were actually running to electronics. She looked back at me and I hollered "RUN!!" LMAo! She ran track one year and plays soccer too.. Dang that girl can run. She's gonna be my secret weapon this year.
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Im trying to envision this. Is it really a mad dash throughout the stores? My god I don't think I ever thought I would have to run to get a present. Usually only two things gets me to run: Someone after me with a sharp object or my daughter is in trouble. So far I haven't had to run! LOL. This may get pretty funny.
RossMAN Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Lol!! Good luck! That reminds me of last year when we went to the Thanksgiving day sale at Kmart. We were after the Sp. laffnatu Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 WOOHOO!! Thanks Rossman! I laugh so hard everytime I think about it because I can still see her running darting in and out between people. lol
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 God I hope I don't have to run like that. LOL. I think I could make Americans Funniest Home Videos if I get on tape. Mama don't run!
kjunea Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 the worse year at Target was when they gave out little matchbox cars to the first 250 people that had coupons on them or something, and lots of people cut line, fights broke out, etc. over little CARS!!! Yikes!! And yet, I still go. This will be my 30th BF, since I started going with my mom when I was 15! June
Rebirth Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 The Target I went to in 2003. It wasn't busy at all. But alot of people went to Target right after Best Buy.
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 CAN ANYONE SEE THE FINE PRINT ON THE SCANNED TARGET AD? QUANTITY? AND ANYTHING ABOUT COLORS OF SPs? I see a couple of small printed lines but can't read it
laffnatu Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 God I hope I don't have to run like that. LOL. I think I could make Americans Funniest Home Videos if I get on tape. Mama don't run! This mama dont either..lol
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 I guess I will have to dust off my Taebo tapes to get ready! LOL. My husband was reading my posts and he went upstairs laughing! he knows I don't run. I hope I can buy 2 of these. Hubby said he wants to get one for his nephew
KBsDarling Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Isnt Target an online option on BF? I thought I have seen people talking about it so perhaps it is worth looking on Tday JIC.
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Thank you. Just to by-pass the hysteria I would pay the shipping! This is when the Target card would come in handy though! LOL.
snikerfitz Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Be careful at Target the don't always put there sale items in the departments they should be in. About 2 years ago they had dvd players and they had them on a pallet in the womens clothing section. So just watch out. And forget the tennis shoes give me some skates!!!!!!!
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 My luck I get to running to electronics and they don't have them there. Should I call the day before Thanksgiving to ask where they will be at?
snikerfitz Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I don't know if they would tell you where they would have them. I know last year I was at our walmart at about 4 am with about a million other people and the stupid store put all of the sale items together between 2 rows oh what fun. If they would learn to space them out just a little we would have more room to throw punches. LOL
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Im figuring there won't be many GameBoy SPs available. So I better plan on freezing for several hours at Target.
laffnatu Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 If they would learn to space them out just a little we would have more room to throw punches. LOLROTFLMAO!!
Mommie2one Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 LOL, Im envisioning the worst here! Your going to scare me thinking Im rumbling next week. I guess I go super early, freeze, then get warm by running around the store in a mad frenzy! If my daughter only knew what I did for her!
shirleyb Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Last year we got in line at Target about an hour early and were number 3 and 4 in line. We wanted the portable DVD players. I bought one, and decided at 9 am that morning to get a second one if they still had any. Went back to Target, and yep, still half a pallet at 9 am!!! So, I waited in the 20 degree weather for nothing, but I wanted that DVD player!!

They opened the doors and everybody started running. They had them all the way at the back in layaway (damn walmart). We got back there and the people were mad because there wasn't enough. I figured if i could beat them running 9 months pregnant I deserved one.
