Laptop sales? Need super graphics

To follow up on my post in the tech forum--it's shopping time! Looking for a good laptop with directX video card, capable of gaming, alienware-ish rather than $400 special, but obviously as good a price as possible. Under $1k as opposed to over would be good, and things sold by best buy or anywhere that I can bring it in for warranty service if needed would be a plus. Will be used for skyrim and lots of skyping in addition to basic tasks like my facebook addiction.

Id say if it were me id go with the dell xps 17. We have two dells and they are great. The price is not bad and you could look in scratch and dent for a discount on one just as nice as a new one.

I was in this same boat before Christmas. I was just about to buy the Dell mentioned above, they had some coupon codes and some other promo going on which would have brought it to just under $700, that was a good deal. I decided to look at Best Buy one more time, and they had a couple models they were clearancing out, and I happened to find one of those also in their open box case that had been the floor model. Pair that with the open-box promo they were running and I ended up with a half-price laptop.

Anyhow, if you can be a little patient, you might could find a clearance and/or open box deal like that. I'm not sure when laptop "seasons" are and when they switch them out for new ones, but someone at the store might have some ideas.
