lchapman18 Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Does anyone know if this is a pre-paid phone or a contract required? My daughter really wants one.
sperdue Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Most likely it will be with a 2 year contract. I'm with Cingular and that's really the only way you get a deal. LOVE the service though.
lchapman18 Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 My husband works for Cingular too so I can't get the contract since we have the employee plan.
MaC_DaDDy Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I was curious about this also. I would bet it is for a two year deal also. Seems thats the only way you can get a cheap phone. Also is it the black razr or the silver one?
sperdue Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I just noticed this is in the best buy ad scan for $39 after $250 instant rebate and $60 MIR The black one is pictured.
ismolika Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 looks like bestbuy has better deals on alot of stuff.LCD monitor, laptop, razor v3 etc.
MaC_DaDDy Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I just noticed this is in the best buy ad scan for $39 after $250 instant rebate and $60 MIR The black one is pictured.I'm looking at the best buy list on the main BF site and it says 39.99 with services, but I can't click and I can't find that deal on best buys site anywhere.
MaC_DaDDy Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Okay after doing a little more research on the site it still looks like you have to get a plan. I put in my zipcode and put in just to upgrade my phone and the razr was 699.99. It seems the rebates may only be available when getting a new contract, but I am not positive on this.
sperdue Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Does anyone know if you could set it up in a friend's name for the deal and have it t'fered afterwords?
ravi7791 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Try to find deals with Tmobile, they have the RAZR on a Prepaid plan. The RAZR IS PREPAID! (YAY!!!)http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/7449/gottadealwalmartbf202hz.jpg If you look closly, it says "prepaid"
lchapman18 Posted November 12, 2005 Author Posted November 12, 2005 I went to Wal-Mart today and the Razr is 68 with a 2 year contract so this should be prepaid!!!
Josh1986 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I work for wal mart in a connection center booth.. We sell the razr for 68 dollars with a 2 year contract.. there is NO way they are gonna bump up the price to 88 with a 2 year contract.. so this must be the price without contract.. i hope.. lol
aequitas88 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I work for BBY and the razor is $39 w/ contract on BF
Josh1986 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 anyone think there will be a limit on how many you can buy?
ravi7791 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 anyone think there will be a limit on how many you can buy?I doubt it since its an "every day" offer.
AMYpw Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Okay sorry but I'm lost. Is the raz phone prepaid and where is it at the cheapest? I don't know what BBY is sorry
Schartzr Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I was looking at the scan of the Wal-Mart BF flyer and I did not see the Razer in there why not???
nicemann Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Ok just to make things straight. Walmart lowered the price of the razor to $68 with a 2yr contract. The ad is going to be wrong. That item is NOT on blitz. It is advertised in their week long ad. Walmart decided at the last moment to lower the price. Too late to change the ad. This is NOT prepaid or the price of the phone with out a contract.
MaC_DaDDy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 alright thanks for the info., looks like I will be waiting until next thanksgiving to get a new phone since that is when I get to upgrade to a new one

crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 so if you already have cingular service, can you buy this phone for the $68 price and resign the 2 year contract or do you have to wait until your 2 yr contract is up to upgrade your phone? thanks
MaC_DaDDy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 You have to buy out of your contract if you already have one, I talked to a cingular rep today, and it is not cheap to buy out of one costs around $300 I believe or so.
crystalhicks Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 thanks for the info...i think i will keep my same phones until i am eligible to upgrade

Marcster Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 All of you with a current Cingular contract should be aware that you can buy a prepaid Cingular GoPhone (such as this RAZR) and simply insert your sim card in the prepaid phone and BAM! new phone!!!

Marcster Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 My current SIM will turn a prepaid into a phone under my current plan????Absolutely.... As long as the prepaid phone you buy is Cingular. (or an "unlocked" GSM phone, but that's whole 'nother thread).
sperdue Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Absolutely.... As long as the prepaid phone you buy is Cingular. (or "unlocked", but that's whole 'nother thread).Good info! I did not know that. I knew you could switch the SIM (I did for the one I got off ebay), but I didn't think the same was true on the prepaid ones. Thanks :)
MaC_DaDDy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 interesting info. Marcster, is the razr selling for cheap as a prepaid phone?
