sleepyjeff
just wondering has any wisdom for purchasing a cell phone off of Walmart.com? I'm a current Verizon customer and am eligible for a new phone. they have some crazy prices on the newer Droid product on there and they also have a $100 GC with any smart phone. i would of course go with the Verizon coverage vs anything Walmart might offer.....just wondering if the phones are generally activated or if you have to pay Verizon to do that? Is there anywhere on their site where it talks about the terms and conditions of buying the phone? I haven't been able to find that (perhaps I was not clicking on the right area) Thanks ALL!! Merry Christmas!!!!
mysschevous
Did you try verizonwireless.com? I know when I had an account at Verizon, I had MUCH better offers online than in store. :) GL
christina5704
I agree with the above. Check out verizonwireless.com first, then if you still want the one from Walmart call verizon and ask if you have to pay an activation fee if you buy the phone from somewhere else other than verizon. I don't think you do but I'm not 100% sure. But you will have to renew your contract with them.
Kim3498
They usually do charge a small activation fee if the phone comes from elsewhere, but you do not have to renew your contract unless you upgade your phone through them. Do not allow them to bully you into that. I have added plenty of phones over the last 10 years and still have my original Alltel contract that I had long before Verizon bought it out.
