fingerlakesmom Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Ok My oldest asked for it last year and now again this year. TRU has it for $34.99 the cheapest I have seen it Is it really worth that? Do you have it do your children play with it? Have you seen it cheaper? Do I need the exspansion sets? THANK YOU THANK YOU!
elena_398 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I went to TRU as they have it on sale for $34.99. (my oldest asked for it). Needless to say after reading you need the $20 expansion packs with it I left it. Its a board game but you buy expansion packs of armies to play. It gets pricey.

I will be passing up on that one.
fingerlakesmom Posted November 5, 2005 Author Posted November 5, 2005 SO you cna't play unless you get the exspansion packs?
elena_398 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 You can, but the armies won't be there. It has a starter set but pretty basic. You'll have to look at it at TRU. I passed on it. Its going to add up to too much
fingerlakesmom Posted November 5, 2005 Author Posted November 5, 2005 UGHHHHHHHH probally be a skipper here too Thanks for the info!
laffnatu Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I bought this for hubby and son last year. They really enjoyed playing it. You can buy more armies for it...but they haven't yet and have enjoyed it just as much. If your son is into stuff like that, he would like it. :)
berry Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 11 year boy has it and enjoys. I haven't bought any expansion packs yet. Takes lots of room to set up and you'll want to be able to leave it up, because it takes to long to set up each time. Non video stradegy game
rosegarden Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 wow - it does sound pricey Glad I haven't got a request for this one
elena_398 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I couldn't believe though after checking the actual game out the price their asking. $34.99 (down from $39.99). Didn't seem worth it to me so I decided to pass.
fingerlakesmom Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 Thank you yes he really lieks those kinds of games if I can get jsut the $34.99 to srtart then maybe hmmmmmmmm
laffnatu Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 If you don't want to pay the $35 for it, check on eBay. There are several of the games on there now going around $15..of course you would have to add more $$ for shipping. It seems like it may be a good place to get expansions for the game also. Good luck!
fingerlakesmom Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 laffnatu THANK YOU for the idea
heavenlysshine Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Also, if you do get it at $34.99, be sure to print out the Toys R Us coupon $5 off a $25 purchase to get an extra 5 bucks off! Then it will be $29.99. :) Look for the 5 dollar off TRU thread. ~H~

2gr8boys Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 TRU had it last month as BOGO, but my son took the ad and I missed the sale deadline. This is a great game if you like to avoid the electronic stuff.
laffnatu Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 That would have been a great deal on BOGO. I missed out on TRU's BOGO. I hope they have something like it again before the holidays.
fingerlakesmom Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 I missed the bogo too SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
heavenlysshine Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 No problem. Print out as many as you need and use at will! ~H~ I am sitting here saying DUHHHHHHH seeing I thought of that for something for my middle son but not this game THANK YOU as I am blushing
