Brad Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Especially nice deal on the 19" model. These $40 coupons are only good for 1500 uses or until midnight, and they have been getting used 1500 times by late afternoon in some cases, so don't delay if you want to order.
Brad Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Just added the 1703FP 17" model to the main post for $409 shipped.
Brad Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 New $40 off $450 coupon code - SXWPD5WTSF5497 - good today only
BobbyDouglas Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Im curious... If I plan on buying the 1901FP within the next 4 months, should I wait and hope that the price drops? Or is $571 shipped about the best I can expect within the next 4 months?
Brad Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 No, you should be able to get that deal several times per month for the forseeable future. Most likely prices will slowly come down and you will be able to get it even cheaper in a few months.
BobbyDouglas Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 So tempting to have dual 19" LCD's<-- jealous
RossMAN Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 <-- jealousYou don't understand how much I LOVE our Dell 1900FP LCD (I paid $700 which at the time was a Hot Deal). If I were in the market to buy a new LCD today, I would not hesitate in ordering the Dell 1901FP. It looks great, awesome clarify, brightness, sharpness, good response time, 1280x1024 resolution is IDEAL for me and the re-assurance of a 3 year warranty. My 1900FP is a rebadged Samsung 191T, I'm assuming the 1901FP is also a rebadged Samsung. Perhaps Brad knows.
BobbyDouglas Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I looked all over Dell, I couldn't find the Rresponse time for the 19" anywhere. Also, I noticed that the 19" is Dot Pitch: 0.294 mm And the 17" Dot Pitch: 0.264 mm Doesn't this mean the 17" has better quality?
Brad Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I think they are both comparable. They both have the same resolution, which is why I upgraded from my 3-year-old 17" to the 2001FP instead of a 19" since it would have had the same resolution.
Brad Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Bobby, FYI there will be a $45 off $500 coupon for Dell this Friday.
BobbyDouglas Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 $45... sounds like the longer I wait, the higher the coupon will be :)
bockchow Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 i have a 19" crt is there any benifit to an lcd over a crt other than desk space? i have a corner desk so an lcd isn't going to save any room at all.
BobbyDouglas Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Another question. Does anyone know the lowest price ever for a 19" dell monitor? What price should I expect to buy at?
RossMAN Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 i have a 19" crt is there any benifit to an lcd over a crt other than desk space? i have a corner desk so an lcd isn't going to save any room at all.Space savings on your deskLighter weightIf you stare at a monitor for long periods of time (hours on end) an LCD is betterLess radiation Unless you are a hard core gamer, I would definitely upgrade to an LCD. At least the 19".
RossMAN Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Another question. Does anyone know the lowest price ever for a 19" dell monitor? What price should I expect to buy at?That is an excellent question. The BEST price I have ever seen happened September 15, 2003 when all the stars aigned together and Dell Small Business was offering: 1800FP: $529 - 20% automatic - 10% stackable = $380.881901FP: $649 - 20% automatic - 10% stackable = $467.282000FP: $999 - 20% automatic - 10% stackable = $719.28 I still regret not ordering a 1901FP for $467 it was a VERY HOT PRICE. I should have ordered 2, selling our current 1900FP. That's how hot it was. This is a very rare deal that might come along every 1.5 - 2 years. The problem is Dell rarely offers 20% off discounts ... lately it's been $ off $ which doesn't yield as great savings discount. My advice is to BUY now before these specials end and prices go back up. Otherwise "you snooze, you lose"
BobbyDouglas Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammnnnnn.. If they were $467 I would order two right now. Just have to find my parents credit card..
RossMAN Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 It's doubtful we'll see a 1901FP for $467 anytime soon.
