I was in TRU tonight and they are starting their yearly Toys for Tots drive. You can donate $1 $5 or $10. They are also having an unwrapped toy drive Nov 4-6. We have been getting pretty good deals there ( at least I have) so I plan on giving something to the drive.

Absolutely! We do this here. I have my son choose a gift and my daughter will get to that this year too....We pay for them and then drop them in the box. My son loves doing this...has been doing it since he's 4!

My local news station has a Toys for Tots drive every year in Nov. I have both my kids pick out a toy each to donate. My son picks out a toy for a boy and my daughter picks out a toy for a girl then we go to the station to drop them off. :)

Hubby and I have "adopted" a child every year. Except for last year, we just chose 2 kids and bought them each a nice gift. The PX has local/military kids age/sex info on a tag that won't have much of a Christmas on the tree before you go into a PX and we just snag a name to buy for! It's makes me feel good to know that I've helped in a small way!

We usually buy a couple of toys each year, put them in a gift bag (as they usually don't like them wrapped) and put them under the tree at the mall. :)

That is great. We do not need to forgot. Everyone can donate at least 1 dollar or a small toy. These children really do appreciate this.

Every year we donate to Toys for Tots. My son is friendly with a child who only lives with his disabled father. One year we found out that the boy was told he wouldn't get any presents because the father didn't have any money. Every year since then we have bought and wrapped presents for the child and his father. We also get a small tree and all the fixings for a Christmas turkey dinner. My sons help me sneak it to their house in the middle of the night about a week before Christmas. It is their favorite part of the holiday season!

I try to do the Toys for Tots and we like to as a family pick a tag from the Christmas tree at our local mall. I love the spirit of giving and knowing these little ones will love the toys they receive.

My Church actually hosts the Marine Reserve unit that serves NEOK. Our cub scouts help the Marines by marking barcodes, sorting toys, reminding them to be a kid when they sort/package toys for the groups that request them.

(no boy wants to get a single hot wheel as one of his two toys - pack it with a few other hot wheels and a hot wheel set for his two toys!

Our Cub Scout Christmas party is before our church does its distribution and we feed the marines pizza, pop and cookies and then hang out with them, sorting and packaging.

My son's school every year has their own program for helping out other children that otherwise wouldn't have a Christmas by having the kids donate new toys, school supplies and all kinds of stuff. This has been a huge hit at his school! It has helped to teach my son to do good things for others. He uses some of his own money to help out! I'm a very proud mother!:fluffy:
