Princess7915 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I am a first time BF shopper. Has it been anyone's past experience that Wal-mart puts special BF items in different locations in the store than where you would normally find them? Does anyone know Wal-mart policy on putting items on lay-away and then getting the BF sale price? Any help for first time shopper is appreciated. Thanks!!! Happy shopping.
starshine Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Usually the sale stuff is on pallets throughout the store. At my WM the manager comes out about half an hour before they open and tells you where everything is. SOme give out maps. Usually all the big stuff like bikes and power wheels are in the garden center. If you put something on Layaway they will give you the sale price during the sale hours just watch the totals closely.
Kandy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Some WM give out Maps, Other SC WM that do not close down you can scope out the store. The stores normally have the sale items on pallets and are covered up. The SC near me keeps employees standing at the pallets so you can have access to them till 6am
Gporter34 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I just left our WM and came straight here to rant and rave!!! Those idiots don't know squat! I simply asked a lady whose badge said she had been there 23 years if it is possible to put items on sale early and get them out during early bird hours at the sale prices. She got pissed at ME!!! I wanted to slap her. She said that she has no idea and it is a little early for me to even be worrying about that because it is still a month away. I told her it was none of her business what I am worrying about and that I wanted to speak with her manager. Then it took forever for them to get over to the register. Then they said I could call back tomorrow and talk to the store manager if I have a problem. Well you can bet that I will. What a bunch of morons. On bf I have more problems out of the employees than out of anyone! Well, I feel better now!lol
whafs8 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Let us know how that turns out. Any way. I never got a map. Well how rude. The good thing about the walmart (WV)I was at last year. Is that you were aloud to go through the grocery sections and you could see where everything was so it made it easier to stake out a plan. But I am back home now so we will see.
dealluvr Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 wow how lucky are you to get a map! we don't get a map
nellyhill Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Some of the items for BF have a different SKU and some are only available on BF (like the TV/DVD combo's). If you put something on Lay-away now you have to pick it up during the sale to get that price. For exapmle: if you put the Care Bear w/ DVD on lay-away you have to pick it up during early-bird hours to get that price. The Lay-away line is super long also. 2 years ago my mom got in line when the store opened, I shopped and brought her the stuff, and it still took over 3 hours to get checked out. Poor Mom stayed in line while I went to other stores to finish shopping. The items are wherever the fit. We found a trampoline pile in mens clothing last time I BF at Walmart.
kennedy04403 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 See that's what I am worried about. I really want the Little People animal sounds Zoo set (Walmart early bird special, reg $40 Bf $10) and I was thinking of putting it on layaway and then going to get it on black ftiday but i'd ahve to bring my 18 month old daughter no matter which way I did it and It think that it might be easier to fight some other people off then to stand in line with her for hours Some of the items for BF have a different SKU and some are only available on BF (like the TV/DVD combo's). I called back today and spoke with the manager and it was cleared up. They will honor those prices on items put in layaway now as long as it's the same item that is in the ad. Which I already knew. So, all is well again.
