Gloey
I guess this is an appropriate post here since everyone is looking for bargains, but a couple of months ago I signed up for Freecycle (freecyle.org). Although 90% of the stuff is used, if you need something you can get it for free. I recently obtained a cat tunnel and scratching post saving me some bucks. We gave away a beautiful computer armoir and a set of weights and a weight bench so there is good stuff on there. Check it out! Glory
Guest all2tired
Yes, I love freecycle. I am a member in 7 groups all for in my surrounding area. I've gotten some really nice things through there. One of the groups even has a freecycle garge sale where everybody just shows up and takes what they want. mrn8
I only use it for giving stuff away. It's a good way to clear out uneeded items to people that have a good use for them. If it's something like a weight bench or furniture, I'll list it for a low price on www.craigslist.org first, and if it doesn't sell within a couple of weeks, I'll put it on Freecycle. elena_398
I've been a member of my area FreeCycle for awhile now. I've gotten some nice items but also have been able to help others out
fairydustcrissy
I got my middle childs halloween costume from freecycle. I have been on for about 18 months....
musiang
I had my own "freecycle" in our area. I was tired of the politics and of the greedy mods. I am still a member now, but am starting a Freeshare in our area. *The newest owner of our "freecycle site" does not post things if she wants them and is never on, so it takes 2-3 days to get things posted. I love the idea of helping others instead of throwing things away! Heck, I even have gotten a mini-van from a lady!!
labgeek
Can I make a suggestion... Add the ability to add feedback to the website... There was a problem here this weekend when a person was told soemthing along the lines of "when can you come get it" he replied, and never heard back. With the question, he was under the impression he got it. But the OP decided to give it to someone else. Caused some real hard feelings. And then another was told they had it (different item & poster), only to be told a little while later they decided to give it to someone else instead. Hmm, sounds like a new type of website software geared towards this is needed to help manage some of this. I've got extra webspace and program (professionally) but only a small amount of extra time to work on it.
jlgrafix
I love that site. It's a great way to get rid of the stuff that I just can't throw out because it's still good. Jen
knb080998
I love freecycle too! I've gotten rid of a lot of extra stuff that I didn't need anymore, plus I found a travel baby swing for my special needs baby!
Mommie2one
Someone actually just picked up my old front door I had. It actually was a floor model from Lowes. We bought it and decided not to use it. I posted in and 30 emails later, I decided on a family to have it. They picked it up recently.
