My son got the $100 one last christmas. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't hold the charge very long. Lasts about a half hour then you have to charge for a few hours!

I work at a hobby shop where the majority of what we sell are radio controlled vehicles.

If you do not like the charger that came with those toys, check your local phone book for a hobby shop and check out the great chargers that are available for these things.

There is one company in particular that I'd reccommend. Duratrax. They have two chargers that are particularly good for first timers:

That one is great! It can to a lot of things that will help lengthen the life of the batteries you have like discharging, cycling and charging it at a rate that will not kill the battery.

This one is it's super-simpler cousin. It is only good for a type of battery called Nickel Cadmium, or NiCD. So, please check your batteries before you purchase this so you can determine whether or not the battery will be ruined by it. If your battery is a Nickel Metal Hydride, or NiMH, it will be destroyed by using the improper charger.

If you have any other questions, please ask!

I bought these same ones 2 years ago for my 2 youngest sons. I would NEVER buy them again!!! Well, maybe the Jeep. They were good for the price, but they tore up my heels and feet with those things. I suffered more for those than anything else. And before I could get them to the checkout, people were trying to take them off of my flatbed. I'm not sure why I am even considering those again.lol
