SuperMommy
Ok, this is horrible!! I'm only 22 yet I'm married & expecting 2nd clild and already I have lost touch with "what's cool". Pathetic, I know. But anyway..my husband got an MP3 player last year for X-mas from my grandmother. He really liked the idea of it, but we ended up taking it back b/c we couldn't really figure out how to download songs on it. Once we managed to find a way to download some songs we were only able to get 3 songs on it. Also, we used some old songs I had downloaded from Napster (u know..back when it was free). We have tons of CDs, so he would like to be able to get songs from those to download on there but we don't know if it can be done or how to do it. Also, I don't know the difference between and I POD and a MP3 Player. I would like to get him another one this year but it won't be any good if we still don't know how to use it. I would love some advice if anyone knows anything about them.
mjmcca
I have an Ipod mini. Once you d/l Itunes to it you can use the help menu to help you add songs to it. It is very easy to add songs to an Ipod.

skytrain
I have a RCA Lyra that I bought from walmart for like $40. It is pretty simple to use. I don't even have to connect the mp3 player to the computer to add songs to the secure digital card because I have a secure digital card slot on my computer. All I have to do is drag the song I want over. I haven't tried with a song on a cd but it should work the same way or somehow you could save it on the computer. My niece and my brother also have mp3 players but mine seems like the easiest one to use. I bought mine last year but it's pretty much the same one they are going to have for BF, even thought I think they are a good price right now. Also the other good part is if you get a mp3player that takes secure digital like the RCA Lyra Staples usually has a free after rebate on for BF. Right now I have a 512mb card in it and I have 128 songs with room for about 20 more. Seems pretty good to me.

Snoodles
DH and I were just discussing this last night and neither of us have a clue (and we are only 31 so we should have a clue.LOL). What is the difference between an iPod and MP3 player? Our 11 yr DD has asked for an iPod but I am thinking that is just too much to spend for something she will probably loose.lol Is there something we could get for less and still be able to download music for her? I think that is what she is thinking is so wonderful. Our 12 yr DD couldn't careless about all this.LOLOL Thank you for any help for this blonde! Postal Phil
OK Tech Help The differance between an Ipod and MP3 players is Ipods play mp3s and Apple propritory iTunes (M4P) when you download from iTunes some are in M4P format which can only be played iTunes or on an iPod. However ther is a program called JHymn that you can use to convert them to MP3. Also alot of MP3 players support WMP (Windows Media Player) formats. On a similar note some players use a mini hard drive which can't handle drops and bounces very well others use a form of digital media ( SD, CF, or internal digital memory) these are more stable but don't hols as much and are more expensive.
