Ipod Nano 5th gen Green? 8 gb

I have looked high and low for this one. I know they stopped making them and now make the tiny nanos. This needs to be this specific one and in green . I tried Apple, MacMall

and local stores. I do not want to buy one on Ebay .

 

I guess when Apple made the new Nanos the stores are required to send back that generation they are currently selling..according to a local electronics store.

 

Btw the CS guy at Apple told me these are so hard to find because they are so much better than the new nanos...they have a camera, radio, etc.

 

Why is it every year there is always one impossible to find present,lol?

We just ordered 2 refurbished Nano's from Apple for my youngest 2 kids (6 and 9) I actually wanted the LARGER one because DS6 would loose that tiny one in 2 seconds FLAT. We paid about the same for the older version (especially with all the stores offering GCs! but thats OK) My son wanted the chrome with black dial which Apple had listed but my DD9 wanted a PURPLE one which Apple did NOT have listed. I called and they located one for me. They go them here QUICK and they are boxed packaged just like the brand new Nano my son got last year. They also come with the same 1yr warranty! My mom let them open them last week and they work perfectly and have been running ever since. If you want an older gen. I recommend going straight through Apple and give props to their refurbished ones if you want to save a few bucks

My DD wanted the 5g for the same reasons (video/radio) & in black so I went with the refurb from Apple. It arrived in a few days & is perfect.

I didn't even realize until THIS post that the new NANO didn't have radio or video...my kids would have been BUMMED DS6 LOVES the VIDEO function!!

DS12 loves to listen to the local football game on this Ipod radio (even though we are AT the game (he says the Radio announcer gives better play by plays then the game announcer...)

Thanks all. I ordered one in green in the 16 gig. When I called last night the cs rep did not offer that. He had the 8gb in pink,blue and purple.

I was surprised that he told me these were hard to find due to the fact the "they are much better than the new Nano".

 

I feel guilty I bought if for me with some of my Christmas bonus My boss is a very generous man and LOVES Christmas

Wanted to thank everyone for their input. I got the new nano for DS7 and I am so scared that hes gonna lose it. I think im gonna return it tomorrow and place an order with Apple for the 5th gen!!

 

One question, how do you know if it has the camera or not? I have not seen any of the 5th gen with a camera???

If it doesn't have a camera it's a 4th gen. 5th gen has the camera and the new one is 6th gen.

5th gen has the video camera, 4th gen does not. Feel confident ordering a refub from Apple, I have heard nothing but good things about them. :)

Ok got it! I talked with Apple support and she also told me that the 4th and 5 th gen are almost alike except for the camera. I placed an order and got the 16g! Now I have to return the 6th gen to target this weekend.
