bpr Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 My brother bought two of the Westinghouse 40 HDTV's on BF. Both turned out to be duds. The good part is he took them back and Target replaced them with 42" Apex. Anyone else have this problem?
peppysfireball Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Westinghouse is a very poor quality tv based on the reviews. I have googled brands extensively while pondering buying one and Samsung and LG are the only two whose names kept popping up. I was told Sony is ok, but everything else is basically not good quality reviews. I went with a Samsung LED. Some people may do ok with them, but my mil's cheapy didn't even last a year last xmas. Go to CNET.com and read all the tv reviews.
Kibit13 Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I agree about Samsung. DH swears by them. He has quite a few at work and recommends them to everyone.
elena_398 Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 I saw several reviews and that's why I didn't want the Westinghouse. I opted for the 37" Vizio Target had for $399. It's for my daughter's bedroom. I had a $100 Target Giftcard to use plus my Target Red card with an additional 5%. It came out to be a super deal. Vizio seems to be a less expensive option for the larger LCD tvs. Good reviews too for the most part.
bpr Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 I have a 27 inch Westinghouse that I've had for several years and I love it. I just found it strange to get TWO duds at one time.
