When I bought the adapter for my DS 2 years ago I did not get the "Xbox" one I got the Linksys one and it worked perfectly, I have a Linksys router. He just upgraded to the new Xbox slim which is wireless, so I took the adapter and put in on my Sony Blu ray from 2 years ago that needs an adapter to access the internet.

I use a TrendNet wireless adapter I paid $40 for the first one and got the second for $25. We use them for a 360 and our Dish Network box, no issues and really easy to program for your network on a pc. Newegg also carries them.
