yellowjeepster
I am looking for a washer & dryer but don't know much about the new models. Not sure if steam is the way to go or just a HE model or what? I was hoping for a good bogo deal during Sears F&F sale but was wondering about this steam set for this Fri. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Not sure how everyone's deal came out last year and how satisfied you are w/the units in the past. cianco301
Just bought a Maytag set at The Home Depot for $929 (after $250 mail-in-rebate). Total out of pocket tonight with warranty was $1389.16 but we got a gas/not electric dryer. Offer expired tomorrow 10-31-10 Model # MHWE450WW MEDE500VW I have read mixed reviews but it has steam and lots of other cool options. For the price I thought we got a deal. yellowjeepster
After reading reviews and talking to some sales people I don't think I'll be buying the steam units. They say the new washers already get most stains out and when using the dryer you can only put in around 4 items at a time when using the steam. I usually take things out of the dryer quickly so I'm not concerned about wrinkles. Glad you got a good deal though.
cianco301
I probably won't use the steam feature either, except to freshen up something that's been in the closet awhile or brand new. I wasn't planning on purchasing that but this deal was a better machine for the same or better price as some of the non-steam models. Plus it was a 4.5 cu feet/most were only 4. I'm happy with my purchase....I just hope the washer/dryer works well!!
