Scott Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Ok, I think that I'm finally going to drop some money on a NAS. I found that Fry's (Outpost.com) has the Buffalo TeraServer (4x250MB) on sale for about $769 after rebate. Here is a link I already have 2x200 GB drives that I could use if I can find a cheap 4xIDE drive server enclosure. Right now, I'm running a Linux server to handle my needs. However, I want to move to a Raid array. This will also cut down on noise and energy usage. I could even get a good external drive enclosure and connect the 200GB drives I already have... Does anyone know of a better deal than this right now? One of the rebates ends tomorrow, so I need to make a move soon if I'm going to do it.
Mike Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 That would look all sexy in one unit, but couldn't you do the same with just a computer case and a PCI raid card?

You could build a server and run it. However, they are big, noise and take more energy to run. This is an out of the box solution. No software to worry about really.
jamesave Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I thought that was the lowest price from fry's.
