mysschevous
I need to make some baskets of goodies for raffle prizes. I'm not sure what kind of things I should put in them, and want to make it not too expensive. I thought of you guys right away. lol The people who will be there are mostly adults. Not looking to spend more than $40 per basket and looking to make about 5 of them. I need to have them finished by the middle of March. Thanks for any ideas! biomajor
I usually bid on the Movie night basket--Target usually has the cute popcorn cups on their $1 spot and micro popcorn and movie candy from Walmart and a couple of movies :) Occasionally a 2 liter, depending on the size of the basket they use :) My friend always bids on the "gardening" basket with the seeds and gloves and little implements and stuff like that. candlesbytammy1
I have done many romantic spaghetti dinner baskets...buy a box of spaghetti and a good spaghetti sauce, some breaksticks, a small bottle of parmesan, you can add 2 plates and 2 full sets of silverware, 2 glasses and a bottle of sparkling cider...you can also add 2 candles and holders, maybe a bag of Hershey's Kisses spread out! I usually end up spending around $30 for it all.
Suzy Crampton
Baby baskets, easter baskets, outdoor play basket, candle basket. We have baskets at a silent auction at my kids school during their carnival. The baskets sell great. Each classroom picks a theme and goes with it. We raise over $3000 each year and we are a very small school. Let me know if you need more ideas, or need to know items to put in one. I have lots of ideas. This year my DD's class is doing a scrapbooking basket. Good luck!

khuddle
Family game night and the cooking basket are always winners at our school. Oh and Ice cream sunday basket. Ice cream soup, bowls and all the toppings needed for Ice cream. That one scored big at our last function.
AndreaInNC
you can also do "round the world" baskets. Each basket has a different country theme. Best place to buy baskets - Michaels or AC Moore.

mysschevous
Family friendly would be good, since it is a family party. :) My FIL is turning 60, and we are having a party for him. Making the baskets for raffles, and any money raised will be his gift. :) We are also doing a 50/50 raffle for the DJ. Thanks for all the great ideas. I will be on the basket hunt starting tomorrow, and I may finally clip the AC Moore/Michael's/Joann's coupons this Sunday to buy some baskets! Cassy
Our school also does basket raffles. We have had: -Baby Basket -Family Fun Night (board games) -Family Movie Night -Bread Basket (all different types of gourmet breads) -Cooking Basket -Cleaning Supplies -Disney themed -Dog (or cat) themed basket -Cozy on Up (a throw, book, coffee or hot chocolate) -Fun in the Sun (the basket was a cooler and kids toys were put it in. Got lots at the dollar store - jump rope, sidewalk chalk, beach towel, suntan lotion, etc.) Could easily adapt to any age. -Spaghetti Dinner (all the makings) -Scrapbooking (went over really well) That's all I can think of at the moment. Maybe more will come to me later. :)
