onegr8mom Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I didn't know where to post it. How do Amazon returns work? I purchased a tv and just received confirmation that it has been shipped. I no longer want the tv because I found one at a better price. Do I pay shipping to have it sent back, or if I refuse the package will they automatically credit my account? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Mikesgirl Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I would refuse the package and after they are done processing it you will get your credit... HTH
onegr8mom Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 Ok, the tv arrived today and I told the guy that I would like to refuse the package. He had me sign the handheld machine and off he went with it. Am I going to get a full refund or have to pay shipping for them to send it back? I've never refused an item before.
Mikesgirl Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I don't know I have prime and I only refused 1 package and I didnt get charged for shipping it back.
peppysfireball Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 You don't get charged to return it if it is a mistake, no sure if you refuse it if you have to. I sent canisters back last week and because they sent me the wrong ones, they sent me a return authorization label so I would get a full refund. According to Amazon .com return faq's if it not a result of their error, your return shipping cost is deducted from your refund. see below You may return most new, unopened items sold and fulfilled by Amazon.com within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error. Items should be returned in their original product packaging. Just visit our online Returns Center, and we will guide you through the process and even supply you with a return mailing label you can print out. Note: Any return that is not the result of our error will be subject to a return shipping fee which will be deducted from the refund
Bchgirl Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 If you received free super saver shipping ...the amount you saved will be deducted from your refund.

amberrn Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I preordered Up from them (which ended up being so much cheaper after the $10 off coupon). I processed a return with them before it arrived and they said my refund amount would be like $5 less with shipping/return shipping. I just refused the package and got a full refund.
