kiwi2121 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I have looked at various IPOD'S and was wondering if anyone knows where is the best place to get a really good one for the hubby this year? He is asking for at least 8GB? thanks
beccasbank Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 If you're asking for the best price, then the answer is they don't really go on sale. Sometimes you can find them with free gift cards for iTunes or the store you've purchased it at. Other than that, nothing really. If you don't mind it being used, you can probably go on craigslist.org and find them in your area.
kiwi2121 Posted December 16, 2009 Author Posted December 16, 2009 thanks for the response. so I am looking at spending anywhere between $150- $250 ?
dmtiern Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Apple has reconditioned 16g for $129 with free shipping. (Their 8g are $99 but are OOS.)I have purchased 5-6 of these over the past few years & never had a problem. http://http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/ipod Edited December 16, 2009 by dmtiern edited to fix link

angelic680 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Amazon still has there on sale! http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=162386
Monstermile Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Go for the refurb straight from apple. You will save money and still get a full warranty. From what I have heard refurbs tend to be better than new because they are tested looked over thoroughly before being resold. Not like a new one that goes down an assembly line and maybe tested for a second. I have a nano 3rd gen 8gb black (impossible color to find in the 3rd gen) and have never had a problem. Just bought my son a nano 4th gen 8gb for $99 with free shipping. You can't even tell they are refurbs. New outer shell, box and all new accessories. CLICKITY-CLICK
BellaVita Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 The refurb are going fast! One morning I saw a whle bunch of colors but couldn't purchase since I was at school., got home in the evening and they were oos! It sucks I need one for my niece. The walmarrt one sounds good.
kiwi2121 Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Thanks Monstermile! I am going to check those out. There is only a slight problem and that is the fact that I live in Canada (so S&H will be out of this world :cheesy:). I frequent the US to shop every now and then, so that is why I am asking. And one more question. What is the difference between an IPOD and an 8GB MP3 Player (with a display screen)... thanks again!> Edited December 18, 2009 by kiwi2121
kiwi2121 Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 the cheapest one on the Canadian website is $169.00
Elmck Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I got an 8gb touch at Target and used a 10% off coupon that I printed from their website, I signed up for the charge and got another 10% off as well and then I have $40 in gift card that I got with new prescriptions.
AndreaInNC Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 And one more question. What is the difference between an IPOD and an 8GB MP3 Player (with a display screen)...thanks again!>the basic difference is the brand name. Generally you will pay more for the brand name of Apple. Can you see what the Walmart deal would be in Canada? See my post a few posts up!
