You've got compact point & shoots (i.e. easy to use, automated settings, small enough to fit in a pocket), Compact megazooms (slightly larger but may still fit in a pocket or bag, more manual settings, features a higher optical zoom 10x or more and probably wide angle lens) and your full fledged full featured digital SLRs on the higher end of the price spectrum. Based on the research I've done, I'm not seeing too many prices that aren't bested or equaled somewhere on line right now. The Office Max first rumored ad had some excellent deals on cameras, but now that the real ad is out, unless there are unannounced early bird deals, its a bit disappointing.
wx4svr Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Depends on the type of camera and how much you want to spin. It also matters if you want to make normal print-outs (3.5x5 - 8x10) or larger (which really requires a better camera like a DSLR)

We specifically like the Elph cameras b/c they are easy to fit into your pocket, etc without needing a camera case or purse. My DD just asked for a newer camera with some added features. My first digital camera was a Kodak Easy Share, and it was worthless and took terrible pictures. There are 2 great Canon's on sale right now for Black Friday.
