aj4545 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Credit cards for cash back and we always pay it in full so we don't pay interest! Always used my Discover in the past but now we have a Disney Visa and use it to earn points towards our next Disney World vacation. I have a couple of hundred dollars in points on my Discover that I will cash in for gift cards for the extra bonus. We use cc's for everything with one exception. Our checking account earns 4% interest if we use our debit card 12x in the month. So our rule is anything under $10 gets put on debit card until we hit 12 for the month, everything else goes on cc. I LOVE earning free money just for using credit!
milron13 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Discover, for the multiple cashbacks they have going now thru December! Then pay off when bill is due.....
bigjimslade Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Personal checks becoming currency of holidays past http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/112109dnbusshoptalk.3c975b2.html
LondonAtDark Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I plan on using cash and debit card. And I hate writing checks.....and most places now automaticlly clear them while you stand there. So might as well use the debit card!
hockeyfanamo Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 It will be a split between cash and debit card for us this year.
bleyso Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Warning to the wise, when purchasing online, please read the small print. I ordered something a last year and reviewed my credit statement and found out the online company I had ordered from, stuck a $7.00 monthly charge to my account saying that I had sign up for some type of program. I called my CC and they took it off immediately. The CC also told me that some people will go almost a year before they catch it. This problem was featured on our local new a few day ago.
JohnnyLaRue Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Same way I always pay for stuff in cash.
dad2trips Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 As it stands tonight, I am buying $1900 worth of Best Buy Gift Cards (no I am not spending this all on my family) which wil give me $7.60 in fuel perk rewards. At 30 gallon maximum purchase I will receive $228 worth of free gas.
