debnmark
I want to get my husband an MP3 player, but not sure which brand to get to make sure I'm getting a good quality one. He won't use it enough to justify spending the money on an iPod. My thoughts were Sandisk, Sony or Zune. Anyone have any thoughts or comments on these brands? Also, I don't know much about these so if anyone has any other suggestions on features I should look for I would appreciate that as well. Do they all have shuffle modes these days. As you can tell, I know nothing about this topic. TIA.
Mikesgirl
My mom and DD9 both have the Sony Walkman and they both love them my mom really likes that it has built in fm radio.. DH has the creative and is real happy with it and he has a sansa clip that he takes to work with him that he loves.. I am not sure if the creative or sansa clip have built in radios or not.. DLM
My hubbys creative has a built in radio and it's ultra small too. We also have Zune's and Ipods in the house too. I would go with the Creative or Sandisk model WITH a radio. They come in handy!

Marcster
For just playing music, not videos and movies and Internet access, it would be unnecessary to go beyond a Sansa Clip or Clip+. The "plus" versions can be expanded with a media card for even more capacity. I love my 4GB Sansa Clip. It's just wonderful... They have 8GB versions now. The Sansa Clip has a built-in FM tuner, audio recorder, graphic equalizer, the ability to play playlists or random, and can play books on tape (with the ability to automatically mark the "page" where you stopped). JenT1292
We own 3 of the Creative's. I have the one with a built in tuner, hubby and son do not. We like them, never had any problems with them.

It really is fantastic - the sound is great (with slightly better earphones than came with it) and it is super portable! It is tiny and very light. I highly recommend it! elena_398
I got an 8GB Sony MP3 player at TRU last week. I got pink for my daughter, but they had black, red, and silver. I paid $69 for my pink one. I too can't justify the price of an ipod (she is 9 yrs old). I'll wait to pay the bigger bucks later on when she gets older
georgiapeach717
napster has a "napster to go" that allows you *almost* unlimited downloads a month for 14.99. I have a creative zen mozaic and I love it. Check the ones accepted by napster if you think you may be interested in using them before you buy one! :)
