RossMAN Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I want to buy the Lexus of toaster ovens. My budget is $100. I plan on cooking toast, mini pizzas, reheating stuff, etc. Would prefer to buy from CostCo B&M, Fry's Electronics B&M, Bed Bath and Beyond B&M or Amazon.com Please recommend a model and why, thanks :)
Brad Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 This was the best one out there: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-NB-G100P-7-2-Quart-1300-Watt-Infrared/dp/B000063UZV For some stupid reason, Panasonic decided to stop making them despite glowing reviews and when one surfaces on eBay now, it goes for $300-400. As for models available now, can't help ya, lol

Homely Just based on reviews I'm considering this model but it's over my budget.
Brad Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Yeah I'm kinda looking for a newer model which is available for purchase and doesn't look so ... how do I say this politely? Homely yeah it really looks like a piece of lab equipment of some sort. spend the extra $40 and get the one you like. looks like a really good model based on reviews. cuisinart stuff is on sale a lot, but most places have it for so much higher than amazon that even on sale it might not be any cheaper.
RossMAN Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 yeah it really looks like a piece of lab equipment of some sort.Yep like it belongs in a lab, I can imagine some beakers and goggles sitting right next to it. spend the extra $40 and get the one you like. looks like a really good model based on reviews. cuisinart stuff is on sale a lot, but most places have it for so much higher than amazon that even on sale it might not be any cheaper. That would be waaay to easy and I like to research the out of something before buying it. Of course by then the model is discontinued and the cycle starts all over again. CostCo sells a Cuisinart for $99, I'm hoping they'll eventually offer a $20 - $35 coupon but who knows if that will ever happen. Maybe if that happens, it will be the motivating factor. Mrs. RossMAN says we don't need anymore toys, gadgets, coupons, whatever This was very helpful: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/604852
jonboy_nellie Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I have this one . I think tthis at Amazon is the same but with more stainless. It might be bigger than what you are looking for - it holds a regular full size pizza, which is what we wanted since it replaced a pizazz. I wanted the bigger version of that Cuisinart you link to but couldn't justify the price difference. I am very happy with this one though. I can get a muffin pan in by removing the rack and sliding it into the grooves and the convection knocks a few minutes off the time. I make muffins, cupcakes, cookies, pizzas and reheat leftovers all with great success. The downside is it gets very hot on the outside so you need space around it and I would worry if you have kids who wouldn't be extra careful with opening and closing the door. The interior is really easy to clean.

I use it at least 5 times a week. I rarely use my regular oven anymore. I've even made cookies in it.
