  1. Be careful, the 40% code is MONDAY40A at first I forgot the A at the end since the others were monday25 and monday30.
  2. Amazon matched the DS prices. I bought one from amazon at the walmart price a few days befroe BF last year.
  3. I used to sell a lot on ebay, so the kids were used to me buying toys and oher stuff and didn't blink an eye at whatever ended in the cart. By the time Christmas rolled around they had forgotten all about what I bought. They are now 9 and almost 12 yo so obviously too old for that tactic, they know better now As for black friday, they come with us, and they have camped out overnight at Best Buy twice 2 and 3 years ago (last year they were disapointed we weren't going). We have a minivan so we stacked blankets in the trunk, they watched DVDs and then slept there while dh and I took turn staying in line and watching them. They were plenty warm. They slept till Best Buy started blasting Christmas music around 4am, then they joined us in line got hot cocoa and donuts. They had fun. When the store opened the first year the girls and I didnt go inside because we only wanted the item we had a ticket for, the 2nd year we wanted a lot more so dh and I split to grab what we needed and the girls came with me, the little one sat in the cart to make I didn't lose her. The only issue we had was that I had forgotten to get them to change out of their snowpants before the store open so they were kinda warm inside lol Not sure yet this year where we will shop black friday but if it involves Best Buy they'll camp out again since we have noone to watch them overnight and the store is 80 miles away.
  4. My 2 girls have some AG dolls and they do play with them but they know that they are special and needs to be taken care off, not thrown at the bottom of the toy box, taken in the tub (their body is not plasctic anyway so no bath for them lol)... They are aware of the cost and they think they are too expensive for mommy and daddy to buy, only Santa can bring them AG dolls They both got their first AG doll at 7yo, my oldest is now almost 11 and her dolls are still in great condition, she sits them on her top bunk when she is not playing with them. She has read all the historical books and love to play out some scene with her dolls.
  5. I buy mostly Gap and Gymboree, the girls just discovered Justice and they really like it. Gymboree can really be affordable, you need to know how to work the sales. For example, for black friday they usually have 30% off evrything, plus there is a 20% coupon in Parenting magazine that you can use at the same time. If you buy items that are markdown already, it makes it pretty cheap. Gap lets you stack coupons online so you can get great deals that way. I like to buy brand names for my kids (and then I resell on ebay when they are done) but I don't ever pay full price.
  6. The kids come with, Neither dh nor I want to stay home, the stores are 80 miles away and we have no family here, so they come. We have camped out at Best Buy all night twice so they are pros now (They will be 8 & 10 this year, we skipped last year so the first time they were 5 & 7). They spend most of the night sleeping in the van, we take out the back seat and pile on blankets so they are comfy and not cold. Dh and I take turn one waiting in the line the other in the van with them. They have movies, books and games to occupy themselves before bedtime. They actually look forward to it and have fun. They usually join us in line once the BB employees come out so they can get donuts and hot cocoa. Once the doors opened last time, I got a cart for the then 6yo to make sure she stayed safe, the other one did great following.
  7. I didn't go out today. Dh hit walmart this morning (they opened at 5, he was home by 5:15!) but we decided to skip the rest of the stores. All we have in town is Walmart. BB, Target, the mall... are 80 miles away. I got almost all I wanted from the online sales so it was not worth the drive, we would have spent more in gas and food than we would have saved money wise. I kinda of wanted to go anyway for the fun of it but the cold weather pushed us to stay home.
  8. the e-machine, the toshiba laptop, a MP3 player, preferably the pink one (my 7yo requested one from Santa, we will have to be sneaky since she will be with us, hoepfully she won't be totally awake yet by the time we get inside the store :-) ), the Hanna Montana game, The Sonic wii game (hum not 100% sure if it's at Best Buy, I am looking at too many ads!)
  9. I got Mario Party 8, Mario and Sonics at the Olympics and "pre-ordered" (release is tomorrow) the new Rayman. The games will be a family present for Christmas since we all play the wii together. I can't wait to try them (hum think I could sneak out at night when the girls sleep?)
  10. We got the similarly price e-machine computer 2 years ago for the kids, we upgraded the RAM and it has been great, perfect for kids games.
  11. 2 years ago we got to best buy at 11pm, were bout 30th in line, last year we went at 7pm to check things out, there were already 50 people there so we stayed. Not sure what we will do this year. If we decide to do best buy again we might drive there at noon (store is 80 miles away) and see. It will depend on the weather too.
  12. Dh and I go together along with our 2 girls (7 and 9). I would love to ditch the kids but we have no sitter and no family close by so they come with us.
  13. For the past 2 years we have camped outside of Best Buy and if the ad is worth it, we plan on doing it again. So we bring, a lawn chair or 2, sleeping bags, blankets, hats, gloves, warm boots, lots of layers to ditch before we get into the store, the warmest possible coat (we are talking South Dakota winter here), some snacks, games to keep the girls busy before they go to bed in the back of the mini-van (we adults take turn, one stays with them, while one waits in line), a book. As far as money goes, no purse, I just take credit cards and they go in my pocket.
  14. Our Best Buy had a porta-potty last year :) I hope they do it again this year since it looks like we will be there around 9PM.
  15. I would get to Best Buy around 9PM. we got there at 12:30 and there were already about 30 people, the first ones got there at 7:30. We got the meachine but not the laptop. And I am bringing a sleeping back,WARM socks and a chair next time.
