  1. Years ago, if you spent X amount, you got some smaller sets for free. Make sure you sign up for their LEGO VIP card. I also remember getting a free empty box on black friday, and you came back and filled it up around February/March maybe? I do know it was after Christmas. I miss having a LEGO store nearby.

  2. DS16 wants a pair of $100 combat boots. He insists that's ALL he wants... I found a pair for $45, so he'll be getting them. Maybe I'll hide the rest of his presents on OUR side of the tree so that's all that is under there  :mischievo

  3. The mall I work at will be opening at 8pm on Thanksgiving night (until 10pm Friday night!), but our District Manager said that if our store doesn't have to be open, then we will NOT open on Thanksgiving. She told the manager to find out what time we HAD to open, and that's the time we'll open. Looks like the outlets just south of us will be opening from 9pm Thanksgiving night until 9pm the next night.

  4. Kohls has started to set up the Christmas decorations! I collect the St. Nicholas Square village, and one of the new pieces is a library! OMG I was so happy to see that (as a librarian lol).

I told hubby I was going to put up my village soon, he just shook his head :D

  5. Does anyone know the cost of the home made soda per ounce? I'm trying to see if it is cheaper then buying pop on sale. I usually pay $2.00-$2.50 per 12 pk of soda. That is 144 ozs total.

According to the sodastream site, a can of soda is about 25 cents. One bottle of syrup equals 33 cans of soda, and one carbonator is equal to 60 liters. With that said, you're also not getting the same calories/ingredients as you would in a regular can of soda. In Mt. Dew, there's 110 calories, 40mg sodium, and 31g carbs. In the Soda Stream version (Fountain Mist), there's 35 calories, 46mg of sodium, and 8g carbs.

We use our soda stream in addition to buying soda, as it's easier sometimes to just grab one from the fridge than it is to make a soda. I find we use our soda stream more in the summer for some reason.

  6. saw tons of kids of all ages out on BF as well. What bugged me the most, was the parents who let their 7-8ish year olds pushing the carts around at walmart! I mean, come on.. it's crowded as heck, people pushing and shoving, and you're going to let your kid push the cart around!? I can't count how many times I got bumped in the back because the kid can't see over the piles of crap in the cart. Very frustrating.
  7. I'd say it's more of a purple color, than it is pink. The screen shows a little girl, and the icons have Disney princess icons on it, but otherwise, the color is really only on the four corners. If I could only find or get that one for my nephew, I would have!
  8. bought one for my nephew, figured with 6 TRU, and tons of Targets and walmarts, we'd be able to find one, right? WRONG! All 6 TRU were out, drove 20 miles to the only target that showed "limited stock", but didn't have any. Went to a few walmarts, and finally found THE LAST green one on a whim @ best buy. Cannot believe how popular these things are this week! There were a bunch in stock just a few weeks ago, figured I had plenty of time to get one at TRU w/ the bundle.

My advice is get it where/while you can!

  9. Target isn't open on Thanksgiving...at least not anywhere but Denver as of yet...(I think it was Target that was going to be open on T-giving as part of a test market there)...

Yea, they're only open 8-2 here on Thanksgiving day. I jokingly told DH I was going to go around 130pm and hide out somewhere so I could be first in the store @ midnight.
