  1. Well. I planned on going to Kohl's first, so I woke up at 2:45 to be there at 3, as I live close. I literally almost hit the line, as it was stretched out into the street. That freaked me out, so I decided to go to TRU. TRU was nearly dead by this time, so I got the mp3 player I was interested in and went back to Kohls. I'd planned on getting my older son the UP jeans for $13.99 because he's lost a lot of weight. I was peeved that the UP jeans for that price were the regular, high cut ones. The others were $18.99 and $21.99. Grrr. Did get some other good stuff plus had an extra 15% off card. At checkout, I saved over $137 and got $20 cash back. If the pants don't fit, I'll be using it later. Wait time was 45 minutes. Did Target. Got the $14 hairdryer, several video games, Lost final season, and some Nerf stuff. Wait time was almost 1.5 hours. Got $10 cash back to use later. My daughter, on the other hand, cruised into Old Navy around 3am and cruised out. Then she went to the mall. She said JCPenney's was a dream. She's currently out with her boyfriend and is having a great shopping experience. I think I've created a monster.
  2. I had nothing major I wanted to get, but headed to TRU at 4am. No problem -- got one item that I knew wasn't on sale. Heard it was a madhouse between midnight - 1am. Went to Wal-Mart. Wanted a $40 digital camera that wasn't on sale. After being pushed and shoved back to the electronics, I tried to pull it off the hook and the hook was locked! Since getting an associate to unlock it would be unheard of at 5:15, I just left. Best Buy was awesome. I got one of the digital cameras there, but just by chance. Obviously someone had tossed it back in the wrong place and I was there at the right time. Even with the long lines (halfway around the store), the wait was maybe 10-15 minutes. Our mall, which holds JCPenney and Sears, among others, was light and quick. KMart was worthless. We left empty-handed. Now off to shop online.
  3. I've heard the Zhu Zhu pets are already hard to find.
  4. Coming home by Best Buy around 6pm, the line was halfway down the front, and there was at least one tent!
  5. I got 5 Home Depot ads in one paper, though I'm realizing now that while I got a MovieStop ad, I didn't get a GameStop one.
  6. WORST -- Circuit City. I stood in line for 50 minutes for my piddling DVDs and only moved maybe 10 feet! Then I had to leave because my daughter is in the Nutcracker and they have dress rehearsal today. I was bummed. BEST -- Our Best Buy. Very friendly and helpful and quick lines. I heard the people who camped out were also treated well. Also, Shoe Carnival. Just really easy to get in and out.
  7. I never did find the $6.88 books at my WM. My son has sensory processing issues (like autism), and we got him a My First LeapPad when he was 3. It didn't go over well, as he didn't have the fine motor skills to work the stylus. He's now 5, and after a year of occupational therapy, his motor skills have improved. In fact, we saw his kindergarten teacher yesterday, and she said the LeapPad center is one of his favorite places to be. You might want to find out if your nephew who is somewhat autistic is able to grip smaller objects. I would suggest, though, that at 3 and 4 you go ahead and get the regular LeapPad vs. the My First one. Even though the easiest books say, "Pre-K and K," it should be appropriate for those ages.
  8. I bought a LeapPad yesterday at Target for $34. However, they are much cheaper online. Wal-Mart had them for $29.96 online with .97 shipping, whereas they were $39 (I think, or $34) in the store. Plus, there are more games online and even some on clearance for $5. I'm really wishing I'd just gotten it online. It's also at ToysRUs.com for a similar price.
  9. Okay, I've been lurking for a month, but I had to share the injury (or whatever it was). DH and I walked into Kohl's and we see some people hovered around a person who is on the floor in the checkout line. It's a young woman sprawled face down and moaning. I tried to just glance and figure out if she had gotten sick, fainted, tripped, but couldn't. We did our shopping and as we came back to the front, EMS was loading her and taking her out. I overheard someone say she may have been pregnant, but she didn't look pregnant to me. However, we we passed by her the first time, the back of her pants were wet, not like she'd messed herself, just wet. It was a scary situation. I hope she's all right. And more importantly, I hope they held the stuff she was getting ready to pay for! Kristina
