  1. The ad says to the contrary...

"When they're gone, they're gone! Quantities on all items in this ad are limited. No rainchecks or substitutions. Doorbuster specials apply only to front cover items. Limit 1 per customer. Not available at BestBuy.com or by phone. The Best Buy price match policy does not apply to items in this ad and is not valid on prior purchases."

This differs from last year when the ad said price adjustment etc. does not apply to doorbusters.

I called BestBuy.com and they said that their price adjustment policy is the same for Black Friday as any day. They will adjust the price *if* the item is available. So for the non-doorbusters that we know will be sold out in 5 minutes, don't be surprised to be dissapointed.

  2. Getting back to the price match on non door-buster items, can someone else agree that Best Buy will match their BF ad as long as you bring it back within the two day BF window, and as long as you're within the return policy period? This is an important one for me and I'm looking to get a few more positive confirmations that this will work. Getting door-buster items that morning is most important, and I don't know that I'd have a chance to get the other items unless I got them before BF.

The ad says, 'When they're gone, they're gone! Quantaties on all items in this ad are limited. No rainchecks or substitutions.....The Best Buy price match policy does not apply to items in this ad and is not valid on prior purchases.'
  3. Is there a limit to how many things I can use GOogle checkout for.

For example. If I see three thigns that cost 50 bucks each at buy.com

Can i make three seperate transactions using the google checkout to save a total of 60 dollars instead of just 20 (buying all three at the same time?)

Absolutely! But I've seen it backfire a bit. Two items may have a shipping of 8.50. While individually, they may be 7.50 each. So, it's not completely cut and dry. But, generally, it's best to purchase in $50 segments.
  4. A couple weeks back I asked in Gamestop, 'what's the trade in value for a PS2' and was told $65. This week there's a coupon in their ad for an extra $20 with the trade in of a game system. So, I called up to ask if I'd get $85 and was told, no $60.

They claim that the $20 promotion was being run then too (it just wasn't advertised) and over the past 2 weeks, the base price of the PS2 went down by $5. The coupon says on it, 12/8-12/14. Seems shady, but typical.

  5. I got a slightly different message:

    Dear xx,

Thanks for your e-mail regarding our policy on price adjustments for the items you wanted to purchase at the Hunters Creek SuperTarget store.

Target is a trend retailer that wants to provide the latest merchandise at the lowest possible price. We’re able to make adjustments on sale merchandise if we advertise a lower price either the same week or the week following your Thanksgiving purchase.

In order to receive this service, please take your original Target sales receipt to your SuperTarget store for an adjustment to reflect the new Target price. You can contact the store by calling (407) 251-5133. Remember, we’re not able to make adjustments on clearance merchandise.

Thanks for shopping with us. I hope we’ll see you again soon at Target.

    Sincerely,

    Jason

  6. I suspect that I'll get that same letter. Are they being evasive on purpose?

It's funny in a way. They quoted me the same thing over the phone when I called my store about how you need a receipt and how good they are at honoring price adjustments. And when I mentioned the "after thanksgiving sales" they were like, 'ohhh no. that wouldn't work!". Completely contradicting everything they said 10 seconds prior.
  7. I called corporate and the person I got on the phone said that they do honor price adjustments for the after thanksgiving sales. Although, she didn't seem very official. Work at home and outsourcing has changed my view of "corporate" from a bunch of suits in a skyrise somewhere to a bunch of people who probably have never stepped foot in a store before.

I called my local store and they said they won't know if they will honor price adjustments until the ad comes out. They said they did honor it last year, but did not the year before. And considering the ad comes "out" when the store is closed (Thanksgiving day), that doesn't give me much guarantee.

I emailed corporate as well, as an email at least gives me something in writing.

Has anyone seen a copy of an adscan that doesn't have some of the fine print on page 1 cropped?
