  1. Wow, lots of resources. Thanks all. I am going to look into the seasonal and three day...wondering if Disney has any specials that routinely come up before the Spring/summer season. I must say, I have to envy my friend. She just moved here and has an old friend who works at Disney World...they have already gone three times in the last two months all for free for her family of four...all they have to do is meet their friend at the gate and she does all the rest...She was even able to get them a highly discounted room at one of the Disney resorts...she wants us to join them...but it is even hard looking at these discounted prices when it's compared to free!
  2. I don't even know where to start...never been to a Disney park...am now a Florida resident, so would just need help finding the best deal for park tickets for a family of 4. Any ideas on where to look?
  3. I have to agree...we've used it every year so far at both Busch Gardens and Sea Wordl...we just went to Seaworld Orlando and I was touched that the trainer for Shamu had all those who served in the military stand up while everyone clapped at the beginning of his show...it brought tears to my eyes...think this is now the third or fourth year they've had this. I wish Disney had something like this! Speaking of Disney...we have a friend who has a friend working at Disney and they get a certain # of passes a year and towards December..it's either use or lose them...my friends take advantage of this every December! Sigh...I wish I knew someone who worked at Disney!
  4. I thought I would ask here! We are looking for an inexpensive 7 day Carib cruise for mid-March...out of a Florida port. Can anyone recommend any sites that they've been happy with...or travel agents? We are also military so may qualify for military discounts too...just thought I would ask! Thanks in advance:)
  5. Thanks, I've gone twice already and took extra copies with me and handed them to folks buying big ticket items:) One man even blinked back tears...gee....
  6. Is this a good deal? Sylvania 42" Enhanced Definition Plasma Monitor *just over 4" deep with a realistic picture, wide viewing angle & 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio *component, composite & s-video inputs make it simple to connect your entire home theater system *wall mountable, includes stand and speakers *requires cable box, satellite or tv tuner SAVE $400! compare to $1199.99 Only 4000 Available Chainwide! Minimum 3 per store. Limit 1 per family. Did anyone manage to get one? I see I posted this in the wrong forum...could someone move this to the "brick and mortar" offline forum for me? So sorry....
  7. When I put it in my cart it was $10.89. Dumb me didn't check the price when I put in my CC #...it went back to $16.01, which I didn't notice because I had ordered a few other DVDs too...I called CS and they would not budge...so ended up cancelling my entire order:(
  8. Do remember every time that you apply for these store credit cards, it affects your credit score negatively (they have a lower standing than regular bank credit cards on your score)...plus, you don't want your credit record full of all these opened and then cancelled cards...that will lower your score too...not worth the 10% even if you do cancel it.
  9. This Mag TV is actually a Proview, see site below http://www.proview.com/Product/Product_Page.aspx?sn=439&pi=121&ii=3451 Did you already try 0001 or 0999? I would post on the site below too remotecentral.com And you've already done this, right? How Do I Perform a Code Search If None of the Codes for My TV/Stereo Manufacturer Work? http://customersupport.tivo.com/LaunchContent.aspx?CID=A8722F21-6F9A-42EC-8626-02DCEF837619
  10. The only coupon code I could find online was the 10% off coupon for when you move...you could always fill out the form, but then you'd have to wait to get the coupon in the mail. If you have a Home Depot store nearby and know someone with a military ID card, they can automatically get you 10% off. All active duty ID card holders (that includes the spouses) get 10% off at Home Depot and Lowe's if you show your ID card!
  11. I don't know about your TIVO, but my remote for my DVR allows you to cycle through codes until your tv accepts one...my MAG accepted the fifth one I cycled thru. Press and hold the device key mode for at least six seconds (DVD, TV, Audio, etc) until each key lights up and the one device you picked stays lit. Press "power". the device key you picked should blink three times then turn off. Press the "up" arrow key (each time you press this key, it will try a new code). Keep pressing the up arrow key until your tv turns off. This means you have found the right code and be sure to press "okay" to save it. Now you should be able to use your DVR remote to control your TV. This is what I did to get my DVR remote to work with the MAG. Let me know if this works! I ended up going to Best Buy to look at LCD TVs (incl Olevia, etc) and to be honest with you, I was not happy with any of the ones there...I had not really shopped around before buying the MAG, so now I can see the MAG is comparable, in fact, it has a nicer picture than most LCDs I looked at:D
  12. This tv has the 800:1 contrast ratio too doesn't it? Notice any difference between that and a higher contrast ratio (such as 1000:1, etc)?
  13. I tried doing some research online (I think this tv is the same as the Proview)...after I found out that my Staples in FL still had some still available day after BF, and my dad's in the DC area still had some the next day too..made me wonder about the quality...I've been fooling around with the display settings...picture was so bright when I first hooked it up and the dark colors seemed to blend in the dark scenes (watched Matrix just because of that...wanted to see how it handled dark colors). I am concerned about the 800:1 contrast ratio...that's about the lowest you can get right? But then again, for that price, what am I complaining about (this is what I am telling myself)? I know the other 32" LCD TVs out there in this price range had at the most 1000:1? Any thoughts on others who bought this tv? Are you happy with it? I'm on the fence...maybe I just need to play with the display settings more.....
  14. Speaking of Lowe's and Home Depot, if you are military, show your ID card and automatically get 10% off every purchase at checkout. I got the 32" Mag LCD TV and 1GB Cruzers at Staples and then on to Walmart for their 3pk PS2 games, $1.88, $5 and $4.88 (I think) DVDs...oh, and that $12 stick vacuum.
  15. I know our Home Depot actually sold a few of those 32" LCD Tvs...YESTERDAY...there was some confusion on employees' part on what to put out on the floor and when...he may have been stammering because of that?
  16. Oh darn...I am in Florida...no Meijers...it looks like online, the best deal, price-wise I could come up with was $256 for a Norcent 20"...there are about six 20" LCDs in the par $300 price range (Norcent, Polaroid, Westinghouse, Niko and AOC)...most with reasonable shipping not more than $20...I think all of them were 4:3 and 640x480, which is not ideal from what I am reading in the buying guides...I guess you DO get what you pay for though..may have to look at the next higher price range.
  17. http://deal.ritebuys.com/viewitem.php?IndexID=35254&RefTag=froogle $1199 + $200 shipping http://www.fotoconnection.com/viewitem.php?IndexID=34964&RefTag=froogle $1299 + shipping That's about all i could find...
  18. I've been checking online and otherwise...is there any online retailer or store that has a better deal than this for the size? I'd also be willing to look at 19". THANKS!
  19. A Tao XM2GO portable satellite receiver/MP3 player (have seen no Black Friday ads on this one as of yet), a flat screen tv and some PS2 games and DVDs.
  20. So then the doorbusters are those items that they have very limited quanities of AND only put out on Black Friday? What exactly is the definition of a doorbuster?
  21. Best price I could find anywhere is $129 and multiple stores have it for sale at that price right now anyway...I ended up buying a nearly new one on ebay (kids won't know the difference)...it came with a box and a stack of games...already tested it out, and it works out great....
  22. Looking for the least expensive 20" (or roundabouts) tv. Only requirements are that it has to be color and have inputs in the front. This will just be something to play PS2 on...nothing fancy! Looking for deal online or local (ie bigbox stores). Thanks in advance! I have been overwhelmed by all the great HDTV and LCD tv deals:eyepoppin
  23. Are you saying then (from your experiences), if it does not specifically say on your ad that you cannot return previously purchased items for a price difference on Black Friday, you should be able to do this and the store would have no legal way of not honoring the price difference? I would think too, items that are already in store shelves, this would be a good way to purchase those items and then to concentrate on true doorbusters or items the stores put out just for Black Friday?
  24. I read this somewhere online and now can't find it. I would just like to know if anyone has ever tried buying an item the day before (or days before) it was heavily discounted and then returning on Black Friday and asking for the difference back? I know that at one time, many years ago, I bought a video camera at Best Buy, saw that it went on sale a week later, and they honored the discounted price and gave me the difference back. This was not during a holiday week though. Has anyone ever done this during the holidays? Does a store have to have in writing somewhere that they will not honor a price difference? Or does it just happen?
