what are the chances some stuff will be back in stock? i watched the laptop go in and out of stock a few times, but the refreshing nonsense kept me from my goal and my bed

Yep I kept trying to checkout. I put in my CC info and then got the "we're closed" page. I didn't want to keep refreshig then because I was scared to end up with multiple orders.

I think we should all write letters of complaint to Staples. I also would have picked up lots of other stuff along w/ my laptop such as a cordless mouse, blank DVDs, and probably a laptop bag. They need to realize how much they are losing.
FYI, I called my local Staples and complained as well. Not that they are part of the process but hopefully it will be relayed above.
Exactly, I would have been too tired after spending the night waiting outside to really go anywhere else and would have done my entire BF shopping (including non loss leader stuff that I needed) there. I already do a lot of shopping at Staples as it is (it's <5 min away) but I guess I'll only go there only for FAR stuff and such.

That happened to a co-worker last year in Carlisle, PA. He was around #5 in line and there were no laptops left.
That sucks, but I could see it happening as there is no minimum printed by the ads. A couple of my friends worked there and told me that they could pretty much set aside whatever they wanted from the BF sale, including the doorbusters. At least at BB and CC the minimum is printed, so although the employees can still get in on the deals, people in line will have an idea whether they will be able to get their item or not.
It's not like it matters for me, given that my Staples doesn't even have the laptop in their ad.
This was the only thing I actually needed to shop for on BF, but would have picked up other stuff there. Now I'm not sure if it's even worth the trip. -
The $349 laptop is available online on Fri morning at 6am EST.

I just looked at the ad on the staple.com site and the laptop deal is not in my area but if i click on a city an hour away they are doing it.
Now i have to make a decision we were going to buy three one being for my brother who is in the army fighting in Iraq. His computer is dying and we were going to surprise him with a new one. I don't know if it will be worth it to travel there to get and that means we can't go anywhere else afterwards.
I would travel one hour, but the closest Staples to us that has the laptop is 3+ hours away.

I intended to buy the Toshiba at CC on BF, but I wasn't able to get one. The manager was rude and disrespectful to my mother so I wrote a complaint to customer service, who offered to sell me the laptop for $325 (without even signing up for AOL). The only problem with this is that it is an open unit. I don't have a problem with this, but would you reccomend purchasing a extended warranty since it is an open unit --possibly returned? Will the original manufacturer's warranty still be valid?
I really don't know which way to go at this point. Thanks for any suggestions. :)

I wonder if they have them for the same price in the store. I have been waiting for the BBW sprays to go on sale for $5. like they did last year around this time. I will check it out tonight after we go out to dinner.

I called my local store before I ordered them. They said they were going to have them for $5, but they were not included in the b3g1 free.
I have been checking the site all day and its a hit or miss. Sometimes ALL the varieties inlcude the b3g1 free and at other times NONE or just a couple.
So, I would keep trying.

I was able to get the b3g1 free with ones that didnt say it at the bottom. It worked when I put them in my cart.
I bought 8 different scents.

Oh, and I have a question:
I've been to BB before on BF, but have never camped out..so I am not sure.
Some of the items are limited one per HH, so would they only give my family one ticket (I am going with my mom & brother) or could we each get one?
