  1. ok so note to self the next grocery order i do to not allow any substitutions normally i allow a few on some items

I've always allowed it on everything and I noticed a few weeks ago there was some italicized font concerning substitution so I read it. That's when I noticed the verbiage had changed on it.  I tested it out as I've always got at least 3 substitutions in every order and sure enough, they tried to charge me the higher price.  I just cancelled the items when they sent out the "we have substitutions" email.  Now, I will say it's kind of hit or miss.  Some items subbed were the same price, and others were at a different price so it's a ymmv thing for now.  They might just be testing this in some areas?  I believe if you go to the website though the verbiage has changed in the FAQ.

  2. usually with Walmart all the games are under the title and you just pick which platform you want it and usually they are available at that price for the other systems, sometimes its a small price difference for like the switch version, but usually if you see if for xb1 its on ps4/5 as well for that price if that game is on both systems

that isn't how substitutions work, someone screwed up

They are actually doing this now.  I started noticing it on my grocery orders a few weeks ago but haven't had one yet on something that wasn't grocery.  I'd be pretty upset with a price difference like that.

  3. That’s what I’ve been thinking all day.  I like a bargain and all, but these little pre-sales have been useless to me. So far I haven’t bought anything at all.  Today I was hoping for Best Buy, Walmart and Target Black Friday ads to hit so I could finally make a game plan.  Hopefully Walmart doesn’t wait until this sale ends to let us see what Black Friday itself brings.

That's the thing...Walmart and Target seem to be moving to this format.  These aren't pre-sales.  They ARE the sales.  Retailers are moving to a whole month of sales vs. just having the Black Friday only sales.

  4. https://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/search.php

You can search at the top right hand corner of the page and if there is an ad item listing that we have typed up, it will show up there.  It's not set by categories.  We did use to have a Black Friday Chart for electronics that you could search by categories for select items.  It's under revision at the moment and has been for a couple of years.  Not every ad is an ad that we type up though, so there may be some regional or smaller stores where the items don't show up in the search.

  5. Anyone else feel like with all of the early BF deals that they will be done Xmas shopping before Thanksgiving? I swear we are already 60% done.

Yep.  I tend to shop a little all year round anyway but I'm definitely almost finished this year.  We did a lot of major requests last year though so I felt like this year is a bunch of small items, like clothing, shoes, etc.

  6. I don't do stockings anymore, but when my boys were kids I filled them with candy. When they were really little, I'd put a stuffed animal on top. As they got older, sometimes I'd put a small gift in the stocking with the candy, but mostly it was just candy :).

That would be a great idea, but one of my boy's has a g-tube and can't eat anything but potatoes, green beans, apples, and bananas, so we try hard to avoid any food related gifts at any holiday for any of us so he doesn't feel left out.  I definitely wish I could throw in something like that.  Seems fun!

  7. Haha...one of my son's came home from school this week and they've started Christmas music in band so my no Christmas music before Thanksgiving rule gets thrown out of the window ;)  My favorites are Carol of the Bells and O Come Ye Merry Gentlemen.  What are yours?
