I had a great BF experience last year and hoping for the same this year. I border cross quite often since I am a dual citizen and have family in the U.S. Duties on goods vary widely and depend on the product and country in which it was manufactured. Because of NAFTA most items manufactured in the U.S. and Mexico are duty free. If you go over your exemption you have to pay duty and taxes on any liquor, cigarettes and items manufactured outside North America. If you have no duty items you will only be charged sales taxes.
