Can anyone tell whether the $179 netbook is a doorbuster? It looks like it is for 2 days, but it says limited quantities. It is a Compaq and seems pretty much the same as the Acer that Office Depot has. I was wondering if this item might be one that you can buy online after midnight on Thanksgiving. I remember a few years ago they had a printer for $25 that said limited quantities but was not a doorbuster and I was able to order 2 online. It would save my mother having to get to BB near her and fight the crowds. The one near me closed this past year and it was never crowded cause it was not located near a lot of other stores.

Not thrilled with BB ad! I thought that the consensus was that there would be $99 netbooks this year. Well, I have not seen one yet. I did not even see a regular priced netbook on the ad. It just does not seem that the sales are that great. Nothing jumps out at me. Lots of games & movies, but not worth my time! How sad!

It has all gotten so stupid! I also have a problem with Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. I celebrate Christmas and that is what I say! We start answering our phones at work with Happy Holidays after Thanksgiving. Last year I was messing with my boss and asked if I said Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hannaka (sp), Happy Holidays.... then would it work? He laughed and said if I could get it all out that would be funny, but he was sure that someone somewhere would find something to complain about! Don't these people have anything else to do except find things wrong??

They have the 33 gal air compressor for $10 more, but the 10% off makes it $20 less. Plus the F & F gives you a free air toolkit (val $60) for free. I am definately there. One less place I have to go BF!

I have never heard of anyone getting a 30% off for BF. Usually it is a 15% off. Has onyone else ever gotten a 30% off for BF??

I thought about it but then I decided that it would be best to just ignore the person. No one else complained and several people had already asked me about the Secret Santa and they called it BF!!

OK folks - I have one for you. At work we do a Secret Santa and several people at my office have been asking about it so they could shop on BF. (I must mention that about 80% of our office is African-American - I am not.) I sent out a message to everyone telling them when we would be doing the drawing and that we would be doing it so people could shop on Black Friday. I actually had someone call me up and tell me that I needed to change the message since that was not PC and it might upset some people. I told the person that I did not come up with the name that is what the retailers have named it and it had nothing to do with color but the books being in the black vs the red. Is anyone else as surprised as I was by this? Are we getting to the point that everything is offensive or are people being oversensitive??? Sorry, this just so blew me away I had to ask!

I also ordered stuff online at Kohls.com the items that I did not think would still be there when we got there. It is not usually our first stop. It was great! As for standing in line - that is why my father joins us ladies shopping - he stand in line w/buggy and make friends and we keep visiting him and adding to the cart. Sometimes he has even had to let others go in front of him when we take too long! He does not mind - he is a great sport about it. :)

I also have a 720 Plasma Samsung (about 50") and it has a great picture. I do not notice any difference with a Blue Ray. But, I have to be honest that I don't notice a difference between regular & Blue Ray discs. I do notice the difference on the HD channels!

Did you get a big toy catalog or did it look like a thicker flyer that they send out regularly? I got a Christmas Book and it had some toys, but not like I am used to. Maybe what I got is not the true Christmas Toy Book. Can you tell me?

I know they usually start sending out the JC Penney Christmas one in early to mid October. Don't know about the Sears one. Can you order it? With JC Penney, if you have bought enough throughout the year you get it sent automatically and for free. Otherwise, you have to pay for it, like the regular catalog.

Anyone know anything about these new portable Digital TV's? I was interested in one of these. I saw one in the recent Kohl's ad as regular $199 on sale for $119 with a visa card for $10 and then you can use your code for up to 30% off. I was wondering if anyone thinks these might be something for BF this year? Remember the little portable ones they used to have that ran on regular batteries. Well these have rechargeable batteries in them. They receive digital signals so they would work now. You know, if the power goes out or camping or something. You could watch the local channels.

Do you think Walmart will send one of their snarky letters to CNN next year!???:)

I just got my "pick your day" coupon and it is good from Nov 13th - Nov 30th. They are cards this year and it came with a day shopping pass for 15% off on Nov 14 & 15. This will cover BF. I had heard that we were not getting one this year. YooHoo! I am glad that came.

We had someone at work head out to CC yesterday to check out what was on sale. For a store going out of business they only have everything marked down 10%! There was even a long line to get in first thing in the morning. Some close out sale!

I ordered some things last year online and had no problems either. The servers were fine and the shipping was not too high. I don't think that you can get the doorbusters online. You actually have to go to the stores for those.

I have some of the cloth bags from Kroger, Publix & Wal-mart. But, if anyone remembers that the big department stores used to give you large shopping bags (strong paper) with the good handles instead of the cheaper plastic bags. Well, between my mother and I we still have at least 2 dozen of those bags and we use them every year. I fold them up into one bag and use them to carry lots of stuff. I also use them again on Christmas eve for all our wrapped presents that have to be transported to my brothers house for the family get together. They are so useful and have gotten lots of use and still hold up. I wish they could make more of those and give them out. Unfortunately, now days all they give you is those cheap plastic bags that also can be seen through so if someone is with you that you have bought something for it is kinda hard to hide!

Looks like I am one of the oldies! I remember going with my Mom and my Aunt in my middle teens when I had a job and bought some presents on my own. So that would make it a little more than 30 years now! Wow! Even though I do shopping ahead of time, to me Black Friday really starts the season off. Things are sure different now. My mom got diagnosed with MS right before my daughter was born (21 years ago) so we have learned to adjust. Now we find the good things about her MS. She is in a motorized scooter so we pile her up with things and we laugh that we always get good parking spaces. We have also learned that a lot of stores will really assist someone like her on BF and we have learned to appreciate it and make use of it! It is amazing that even at BB sales people will go find what she needs and bring it to her. We have even had some places take us to a different register and ring us up to make it easier on her. Now, it is my Mom, my long-suffering Dad (the from store to van package carrier), my daughter and I that go each and every year. We don't camp out, but we do go over our plan on Thanksgiving and sometimes start ordering then if we can. I love the tradition and look forward to it every year.

You can also use it online on a different day. You get to use it one full day (all day long) at the stores and they sign off on it and date it, then you get to use it once online. Of course, one and a while you get a great employee that won't mark it! I have had a couple of employees do that for me. Gotta love Kohl's! Never any problems and great customer service and fantastic prices.

When I got home, my Pick a Day 15% off everything coupon was waiting there for me! I was so happy it came. I was wondering if I would get one this time. It is good from 11/14 to 12/15. Can't wait to take that extra 15% off everything on my list on BF! One of the many reasons I love Kohls.

I had the same question about the Zune. Also, the same question about the Casio Exlim digital camera. Is it only in black or will they have the other colors (red)? Thanks Brad for all the work you do!

Having the Kohls cards is definitely worth it! I also have had a pick a day on BF. My favorite thing about the kohl's coupons is that the discount is off the sale prices as well as the regular prices. There are no exclusions! No other store offers that that I know of. I know JCP has coupons, but they all have exclusions and are never good on sale or clearance prices. You cannot go wrong with a Kohl's card!

I am looking for a RC boat this year. Anyone know of any Hobby Shops that do Black Friday sales? Radio Shack might work, but I really am looking for a high end one that usually costs around $300! Thanks.

I go with my Mother (has MS & is in motorized scooter - nice parking spaces & we pile her up with stuff) & Dad (drives van and takes purchased items to van. He is also great for standing in line while we shop and add stuff to the cart. Lately, my DD20 has come the last couple of years and loves it!

Love Kohls! Great clothes for juniors! Our solution to the long lines on BF - my mother, daugher and I go every year and my dad goes along to drive, carry pkgs! We always let him get in line and we go shop and just keep bringing things back to him! He visits with the others in line and is happy not to have to walk around with us! If he gets too close, he lets others get in line in front of him! Needless to say, I have a very understanding and patient dad!
