  1. Five point harnesses are usually only used until a child reaches 40 pounds ( or possibly up to 60 with a Britax), and a certain height limit (of which I am not sure). My child is too big for a five point harness. He is currently on his fourth car seat. After his infant seat, and next traditional toddler carseat, I bought him a toddler booster with a 5 point harness. He has since outgrown that, so the next safest option is a high back booster that positions the car seat belt safely. In my state, it has become a law that children must ride in a car seat or booster until 9 years of age or 80lbs. Surely you wouldn't expect a child that big to be in a 5 point harness, would you?
  2. Target sells a booster seat WITH a back that is pink and flowery, the back has the option of being removed when child is older, it is made by Graco and called the Safe Seat. It is 49.99 (regular price). I believe that I also saw this seat at Toys R US or Babies R US. I just bought my son the boys version of this seat and I LOVE it!! I will admit that I gazed wistfully at the pink one, as I have 2 boys and no girls as of yet. Hopefully someday I will get to buy the pink stuff!! Good luck, hope you find what you are looking for.
  3. Wow, that coupon was supposed to be used on boxes of diapers only, I am surprised they let that one by!
  4. The one I bought was marked at that price, but rang up $42 dollars at the register. A manager fixed it right away though. However, I did go to a different Target today and saw the exact same travel systems, and they were only marked down to $110!! The Evenflo one was $90.98 I was shocked!! I can't believe I got such a great deal. It's amazing how all the Target stores differ from one another on price. The parents baby gate at that location was still only marked $34. I will say though, that in my experience this particular Target is always way behind in clearancing items out compared to the other one I frequent.
  5. I was at Target today and was able to combine both coupons. I have never tried Luvs before, we have only used Pampers in the past, but I am willing to give them shot and see how it goes. Not a bad deal if my son doesn't end up experiencing leaks.
  6. Got a great deal at my Target today. I got a Graco travel system ( the carseat and the stroller) For only $32!!! It was originally $129.99!! I am so excited!! It is pink and grey and absolutely adorable. We have been trying to get pregnant for awhile now......hopefully it will happen soon, and I guess now I have to hope for a girl too!! ( We have 2 boys already.) The sales associate said she just marked them down today, and she was surprised they were still there. This was at around 4:00 PM. There was also an Evenflo travel system for the same price but it was more boyish, and I already have one of those from my 2YO son. My Dh wanted to buy that one too, even if just for a gift down the road, but I passed on it. Hopefully I get to use this pink one soon, if not I know I can resell it at a rummage sale....I could probably even turn a small profit if I wanted too. But I REALLY, REALLY, hope that I get to use it!! I kind of felt silly buying a travel system for a baby I am not even pregnant with, but I couldn't help it. It was such a good deal!! They also had nice strollers that were originally 49.99 for $12, I am not sure of the brand though.
  7. People with body odor. I don't care how early it is, take a shower and put some deodorant on. I always seem to get stuck in line behind someone like that. I also really have a problem with people who say NO little kids at BF. I have always taken my infants/small toddlers out on this day. They were totally breastfed and I never used sitters until they were at least 2 years old. They would have been awake at 5 am at home anyway so why not? They did not cry and were not tired.
  8. I too was able to hit this amazing sale just by chance. I stopped in to browse and ended up spending $72 and walked out with 2 heaping bags packed full of clothes for me and my boys. I am hoping that the OP or anybody else that knows about these sales ahead of time will continue to post about here. I would love to know about this sale in the future. It truly is an amazing deal for young families that are trying to stick to a budget. Thank you original poster!!!! Keep the great posts coming!!
  9. I have never posted before, but this thread inspired me. I am not even sure if anyone will read it being this far down on the list, but here I go anyway. While I completely agree about newborns being under dressed I do think some people blow this a little out of proportion. I took my 10 month son with me last year, and it was a great experience. He was totally bundeled up and he behaved wonderfully. I did get one comment about him being out so early, but hey he would have been awake at home anyway at 5 AM so what was the difference? And as far as taking him out in the cold goes, we live in Wisconsin. If I went by that thinking we would never leave the house from November through April. Not very realistic. I also need to add that I am guilty of taking my now 21 month old son out in the cold without a hat. The reason? Now that he is older, he simply will not wear it. He hates it with a passion. I get dirty looks from little old ladies all the time. I know what they are thinking. But really, it is just from the house to the car and the car to the store. Not long exposure. And to further defend myself, I consulted my pediatrician about this and he told me not to worry about my sons temperature. He said if the baby is cold he will let you know. Babies are very good about that, complaining when they are uncomfortable. I have decided that he is probably right.
