  1. The ad says games may be available on other platforms. In the past, if it's available on multiple consoles, it will be on sale on all of them. The only difference may be if it's current vs previous gen, in which the sale price may be different (usually previous gen is cheaper).
  2. We need one moderately big retailer who opened up on Thanksgiving last year or this ear to make a big announcement that the trend that's been happening is WRONG and that they are going back to a true "Black Friday" opening. With public support, I bet there will be a domino effect back the other way. Maybe not all the retailers, but enough.
  3. So this morning, around 6:30 AM I went to my local walmart in Dumfries, VA to buy some games, knowing that some might not be available. One of the games I wanted was Borderlands GOTY for PS3. When I got to the store, I looked for the display pallets for games. They had tons of movie ones, but no games. I looked at the display cases and sure enough, they were packed. A lot of games had the usual color coded stickers on them. Many games were put in the display case under their tags, but lots of games were tossed in the bottom of the cases randomly. Anyways, I looked and looked and spoted Borderlands GOTY and a couple other games I wanted. I had someone get them out of the case and went to check out. While the others rang up on sales, Borderlands GOTY rang up at 29.96 and not $15. Since there were others there and I had other things to check out too, I said I would pay now and go to CS for a price adjustment. When I got there, I struck out over and over. One person told me that because the game I had didn't have a sticker on the outside, it is supposed to be full price, despite the sales ad not saying games needed to have a sticker on them and my copy of WWE 13 note having a sticker and coming up on sale. Another person said the game wasn't part of the sale even though I showed them a picture of it in the ad. Another person said the sale was only for Thursday night (8 or 10 PM until midnight). Another person said the sale was only until a random time today. Another person said because the game was in a display case and not on a pallet, it shouldn't be honored at the sale price, even though they put their games from the pallet into the display case. I eventually spoke with the Assistant store manager on duty, Sarah, who just wouldn't budge. She says the sales flyer says the sale is while supplies last, and only games with a sticker are considered part of the supplies. I say bologne! The ad says nothing about stickers - it shows the game and a price, and no mention of an end date either. I was fed up and took a refund. I asked for the number for the district manager and was given 1800Walmart instead. This is wrong. I know it's only $15, but it's the principle of it. They had a sale and I followed what the sales fyler said, but they wouldn't honor the price. I would be fine if the ad said the prices were good until a certain time or if the store associates all had the same story. The fact that I was told 5 or 6 different things is proof whatever training there was isn't working. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
  4. I got lucky, well kinda. BB's site wasn't working for the $499 Sony Bluray Laptop Bundle (wasn't showing a discount). I called Reward Silver Customer Service and they tried placing the order manually, but said it was sold out. Once I heard that, I submitted my order at the full price and it went through. I then spent 40 minutes on the phone with them until they could price adjust it. Whatever they did behind the scenes, they only discounted the laptop ($430ish). I then went into my order online (in my account) and canceled the overpriced bag and bluray). After tax, I'm paying $450 for that laptop.
  5. Thanks for this ad. Too bad the scan quality is very low. Overall, it's an OK ad. I see some clothes that will go on my XMas list and things to pick up for my family this year from there.
  6. The best blu ray deal IMO was best buy's insignia for $99 a few weeks ago - included netflix playback.
  7. For black friday they only have a VIP or Premeire "Pick a Day" coupon active, and that's always for 15%.
  8. Haven't gotten mine yet, hope to really soon!

Sorry for the late response, but when I had Kohls Cash looked up, it was on a Kohls Charge card, so perhaps that made it possible. I've only done it once though and that was about two years ago.

I wish that was the case. From what I saw, almost all wanted at least $200 more than the retail cost. After they paid sales tax and ebay fees, they would net a profit between $100 and $150. It's sad too because at that point, people are better off waiting for another decent sale where they could spend the same amount and get a better one plus have a store receipt to go with it.
  11. Binghamton, NY (visiting family for Thanksgiving), then maybe Woodbridge, VA later in the day.

    Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is a gimmick that seems to be all talk and no substance - For the past few years, I haven't seen any deals on cyber monday that were any better than normal sales and nothing anywhere near as good as black friday sales.

I have had kohls be able to reprint my Kohls Cash before - they look up the receipt and get the # tied to the kohls cash that was issued. If someone else tries to use that kohls case, it will show up as already redeemed. It works really a lot like gift cards.
  14. I got mine in an email while at work yesterday. Thought I would print it out when I got home, but now it won't come up anymore. Does anyone have a copy they could scan or have the original file saved somewhere?
