Looking at the ads this year, Looks like Im sleeping in. The stores are are being cheap this year. You think with gas prices over $3.00 a gallon, and needing to sell a lung to pay for your heating bill, they would be more generous on the sales!, Unless there is something good in the T-Day ads, I think I will wait till the weeks following, to see if they drop their prices more.

Has anyone ever compared grocery shopping at target compared to grocery shopping at walmart. Was there a big difference. I am tired of dealing with the scum at walmart, and would love to shop at target for groceries if the price was competitive.

Make sure you get at least 2 gigs of ram, and a dual core processor, dvd burner/writer. The cheap door buster ones from last year, were glorified dvd players.

I guess its just my thought, that if I am gonna be forking aout $1000 dollars for a tv, why not pay 200 or 300 more to make sure I got the best out there. And this thing about the competing formats blue ray and hddvd, what the hell, where back to the days of vhs and beta. The induustry needs to adopt a standard and go with it. Just my thoughts.....

Look at a 720p and a 1080p next to one another getting a signal from a hd-dvd or blue ray disc, or a gaming system and then tell me what you think. Also the golden standard is now 1080p, anything else and down the road you will be dissapointed you never coughed up the extra dough for the 1080p.

Don't get a westinghouse lcd I work part time at a retailer, and we get those back all the time for warranty issues. The screens they use are very cheap. Look at one next to another tv and you can totally tell the difference. And make sure to only buy 1080p, you will be dissapointed if you dont. All of the networks will be broadcasting in that format within the next year. Pay a little more and get it. jfire

Dont get a television other than a digital one. The FCC 's date to stop sending analog signals is January 2008. Your television will be no good without a either a satalite box, or a cable box. jfire

One rumor on bundles is that instead of lowering the price on the premium, they will be bundling the hd dvd player with it.

For what its worth I was at target yesterday, and the person in the electronic section told me to wait until after the wii and ps3 come out before to purchase an xbox 360. He just said if it was him he would be wating with a "wink" so since I dont need it till xmas, I will be waiting to see.

LCD screens are only made by 2 companies, So you dont really have to worry about what brand you get, as long as it has the features you want.

Concerning LCD televisions. there are only 2 companies that actually make the screens for them. So you dont need to be too concerned what brand name they are. Just look for the features they have and warranty. One other thing to look for is if it is capable of 1080p. that is the best HD resolution right now.
