  1. I waited in line there early... are you ready to hear why... it sounds silly... a Xmas tree! They have the same tree this year in the ad but only for 40% off, it was $99 last year, it spins. We had bought a new house and have a big front window and there is a yard decorating thing on our cul de sac so we get a lot of holiday traffic and I wanted THAT tree. Anyways, you would think that was not the big draw BF... I got straight to trees, picked up the little piece of paper for the tree and then was going to look at a few things (winter coats for kids) An employee mentioned that you don't have a claim on the tree until you BUY it. So I ran to a register where someone was buying the tree. Turns out there was only 2 in stock!!! I got the other one, but it was close and I was surprised they had the papers out to buy more than they had in stock. I then went to look at kids coats... NO boys coats. None. I doubt they sold out THAT fast, but there were zero boys. They did have some girls. I was not thrilled.
  2. My son is a patient at St Jude in Memphis. I have been to their gift shop in person many times. These are really cute jewelry items!!! Another thing that was pretty cheap (and I bought a bunch for presents) are their bags that are houndstooth check. They are on sale for $10 They are called their 2 - in - 1 tote bags (just go to sale merchandise) They are pretty big and we use them for weekend bags. Their items are all very nice and this hospital truly saved my son's life. Our local oncologist told us to just take him home to die, he said he'd only have a few months left. That was in October 2005. We went to St Jude and he had a bone marrow transplant and is close to 2 years post transplant. I can not express in words what a wonderful place this is, but if you can support them AND get great deals WONDERFUL!!! And thank you from a mother that owes her son's life to this place!!!

  3. Ok, I am looking for a laptop to replace my two year old Toshiba that died months ago :( I use it to surf the internet and download my pictures. I sell with eBay, I don't play any games other than solitaire. We have a wireless system set up in the house and I travel and take it with me for that too, but still just to do internet (yes, I am addicted)

I am thinking of the Dell on sale right now for several reasons, the price seems reasonable (though I am not that great at comparing all of this) and I don't have to wait in line for it. There are multiple stores that have deals I am very interested in, and only one of me.

Here are the specs of the one I am looking at

Great Deal — Vostro 1000 Notebook

    Basic small business mobility

    AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-53

Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition or Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic

    1GB system memory*

    120GB* hard drive

    15.4" widescreen XGA display

    8X DVD+/-RW

Only $399 with exclusive e-mail coupon

I was thinking I would get it with XP instead of Vista as you all seemed to say it would run more smoothly. Is there any reason to not go with XP?

    Thoughts on this set up?

    Thanks for your help!!!
