  1. I was able to buy this exact kit for my husband for $9.99 in store. They had a huge display of them. My husband is tickled pink, he says it's a fantastic kit.

Ryobi MultiTASKit Laser Level Kit from Home Depot

shipping free if order totals $49 or $7.81 on 1-3 kits.

"When precision counts and a straight line is needed, go further than your standard laser level with this multitasking kit. Perfect for aligning pictures and other items, the laser level projects a visible line on the wall, while the lighting attachment eliminates the need for a helper to hold a flashlight on your work. A convenient magnetic tray allows you to keep screws and nails from rolling around and getting lost, while the multifunctional base is designed for screwdrivers and other hand tools to slide in securely. If you like to work alone or you know someone who does, this handy set of convenience tools will not only make it possible but efficient as well."

  2. CC will have the TV for $1099???

I got the same response as above from a Circuit City a manager just now.

Basically, they refuse to pricematch BF hourly sales as they are considered limited quantities.

The good news, they told me they are dropping the price on this Panasonic 42" to $1099 and will have it all weekend; allowing for orders if they run out of stock. I dont know if he was pulling my leg or what, but he was the manager of the store. Hope he got it right, CC is next door to BB and I could just swing by if I am not in time for BB>

Ya know, I was contemplating filing a complaint on BBB agasint CC over the issue; it completely destroys their year round advertising regarding not being beaten. Cant say I will ever trust them on price agian. Actually a really bad thing, they just blew their name and BB usually has a better selection. The sad part, they ahve red tabs above their prices caliming they will not be beaten....

  3. So they're saying if you bring in a local merchant flyer showing $1299, they'll price adjust? If so, I can try and dig up my Comp USA flyer and send it to you. I hate to see people get screwed.

I called another Sears and they told me to go to the Sears where I made the purchase it at and not bring them a price match receipt. I went back and pleaded with the department manager that this was a legit deal but he was like well I have to go directly to the CC site and see this. Of course the coupon does not show then because you have to go through the gottadeal link and then to the cc site. None of the Sears I have been to will just look at a screen print. The same two dudes and same electronics department manager have been there every time. This item is now selling for $2009 and they think I am a nut trying to get this thing for half price. ! Of course I pretended like I still have the item in the box and they would rather me bring this back and then go to Circuit City and get the deal rather than deal with dealing with the price match.

Side note..While I waited forever for someone to assist me...saw a couple spend over 3 grand for a huge Sony 1080p and then the salesman and another backup went into the warranty spill and it about came to the point where the couple was about to walk out and not take the deal. They were getting pissed! Another family had been told a Disney VCR/DVD combo was in stock to replace one they must have got and did not work. When they got there another one was not in stock. They were not happy. The electronics department manager basically no remorse for them (nothing like I will help you with this ...more like you Mr & Mrs Customer need to call/do this) Dad got furious and boisterous with Mom adding an occasional word. Unhappy customers all the way around at this Sears. Not enough salespeople on the floor for the traffic they were getting and where they are located. All along over the loudspeaker messages that Sears wants to please the customer.

  4. Any purchase over $1000 that I plan on keeping for at least 5 years kind of forces my hand on the service plan.

I will be honest and say that Consumer Reports says not to do it, and it's just how they suck you in, since all products have at least a year's manufacturer's warranty.

What bugs me is with the manufacturer warranty, you're responsible for shipping it. This is a 42" TV. I'd much rather pay the $300 up front and know someone will come to my house whenever I need them to.

Do most of you recommend the service plan? This will be my first large electronics purchase.

  5. How much did Sears charge you? If it's over $1299, then just bring this week's CompUSA ad and your receipt to Sears, I think Sears does price adjustments after purchases, don't they?

I went to the Sears where I purchased from and they would not do a price match due to the coupon offer. Their policy states nothing about applying coupons...it says they will match the total price including shipping and handling with a print out. I was very dissapointed so I'm hoping for more pricing actions by local sellers.

If anyone has any luck with Sears doing a price match on this deal, please post.

  6. Oh, you don't have to bring the whole thing back. Just bring in an ad showing the lower price and your receipt. All I did was bring the Comp USA ad and my receipt in and I got the $198 credit.

I keep it in the box for a day after I bought it. I could no longer wait after reading all these good things about the unit. I had to open it to see for myself. Taking it back to Sears for the $100 price difference wouldn't be worth it to me now since I have it all connected to other devices and on the stand watching it. It would be a pain unhooking all the cables from my other devices and getting help to pack it back up to take back to Sears. Also, Sears also would charge me a restocking fee for returning it now since it is an opened item. Maybe someone local will drop it in the 1100 range within 30 days....

  7. So you did buy it??? :)

With it being 1299.99 now at Circuit City, if you have an Entertainment 2006 Book you may have a 10% off coupon any TV from Circuit City over 199 (in my area book on page F4) in it. I did not see this coupon in the 2007 version.

I'm not sure if entertainment.com would have any books for 2006 since many of the coupons expired Nov 1,2006. Good to Dec 31, 2006.
