I didn't get to our Walmart until almost 5. Got almost everything I wanted except IDOG. I had ordered online at 4am Central time and got an IDOG, jeans and dvd player with no problems...........next year people need to check Walmart online earlier than 5 am. I had no server problems and my items have already shipped!!

Our Walmart is 24 hours, but last year was the first year they stayed open all night Thanksgiving night. Before they gave us donuts, coffee and full lists of every item on sale and where to find them. They had computers already in carts ready to go, you just ran to one and took it. It was a great way to do it. My issue with staying open is people stand in line for 8 hours for one item you may not even get, and then you miss all the other bargains. Last year the laptops and computers had people waiting 8 hours. How do people with lives compete with that. When they open the door at 5 you can run to the computers and then to the mp3 players and gameboys. Gone are the times when each of us would grab three items for the three different shoppers in our group while someone else grabbed 3 tvs or dvd players.

Several years ago Target had a Gameboy Advance bundle advertised and I waited out in the cold for 2 hours only to get inside, be the first in electronics, and then have them tell me they didn't come in and no rain checks. How hard would it be to tell the people outside, "If you're waiting for XXXX we don't have it" so we can go to another store. I have not been back in line on BF since. I go elsewhere.

We only have Sears Hardware Stores around here. The main holiday ad say "first 100 or 200" get gift cards, but at the hardware store only 20-25 cards are handed out. Caused some problems one year. They only give per household here too. No kids. I've got one every year. Now you can use them at Kmart too, I believe.
