  1. used it several times for some fantastic deals on NHL shirts for DH ;-) and maybe a sweater for myself lol....using the mailed coupon tomorrow - love to get these in the mail; not sure why i never thought of trying to use it online too
  2. care to share the coupon code? just received an order this week and order several times a year and i didn't receive it...
  3. any department store cards, like other credit cards are held against you at their full spending limit when trying to get a loan, credit check etc, personally it just isn't worth it to me, especially since they started doing kohl's cash without having be a cardholder. not trying to get on a soap box here or step on any toes - just stating my own opinion, no offense to anyone.
  4. i am hosting thanksgiving this year (2nd time for me) turkey breast pork loin stuffed with wild rice, dried cranberries, apples, mushrooms and bread stuffing) red skinned smashed potatoes mushroom gravy spinach salad with dried cranberries and walnuts roasted fall veggies (parsnips, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash) green beans foccacia stuffing pumpkin roll pumpkin brownies with cream cheese frosting baked apples stuffed with the topping used in apple crisp and caramels i thought about having pumpkin ice cream, walnuts, caramel and buttersotch sauces and having a pumpkin-sundae station for christmas eve we eat at my inlaws and do finger foods - then christmas day we have a traditional ham/turkey dinner with inlaws and my family does a big themed buffet - cold cuts or italian, or mexican etc new years eve my inlaws make fried oysters (eww) and new years day we have pork barbecue and coleslaw
  5. when i was in high school my mom tripped on something in my room and broke her foot the day before we were going to cut down our first live christmas tree. my dad and I wound up going to get the tree and that day it was super cold so the tree farm couldn't put it in the machine to shake the loose needles off. we get the tree home and as we are getting it into the house a squirrell ran out! we got it up and decorated it and the stupid thing fell out of the stand and right onto my poor mom sitting in the recliner with her cast! the loose needles went EVERYWHERE! we got it cleaned up and put the tree back up - it fell over again!! it was a mammoth tree and after the THIRD time the thing fell over, my dad tied a couple ropes around it, ran them through the picture windows in the living room and tied the ropes to a 50lb bag of rock salt and some cinder blocks!! it got quite the reaction from everyone who came to our house that year! needless to say our first live tree was also their last!
  6. i'm anal retentive about our christmas tree so the paper and bags all coordinate with our tree...both our families live an hour from us (we grew up in the same area) so everything has to be loaded up into the car and sorted by which house it is going to..sadly this means i can't put lots of bows on there :-( i *try* to wrap everything as i get it but usually i wind up frantically wrapping on the 23rd
  7. i want a hippopautamus for christmas - there is a local radio station that plays it like twice an hour and on all their commericals grrrrr i can't stand baby it's cold outside also there is a really sad song about a little kid wanting to buy shoes for his mommy and i won't listen to it becuase it makes me bawl
  8. i'm ultra snooty about my living room tree - i have white lights, different sized red and gold bulbs and a fancy gold satin tree skirt - it looks like a magazine tree and i'm happily obsessed with making it look that way every year ;-) in our family room i have a fake tree where i put all the novelty ornaments - last year i bought a bunch of gold and blue ornaments at 90% off though so i'm using white and blue and yellow lights and having a WVU tree :-) (proud alumnus)
  9. best was my grandmother's engagement ring worst was my grandmother's engagement ring because that was the year she passed away...
  10. um sorry, i didn't realize it had already been posted - i didn't see it previously...
  11. Hearst magazines is having a $5.00 magazine subscription sale (expires 12/03/06). These would especially make great low cost gifts for friends and family (and maybe even yourself ). They have 16 different magazines to choose from, ranging from 4 issues to 12 issues subscription depending on the magazine title. https://subscribe.hearstmags.com/multititle/
  12. I'm looking for a Sony PSP for my younger brother - anyone hear of a good deal for these? Thanks!
