  1. Today online: got Mortal Kombat from Amazon for $29.99 and a YuGiOh collection (not on sale). Got the 24" Dynex from Best Buy for $79.99 along with Assassins Creek Revelations for $34.99. Missed the Batman but still hope for cheaper price. Been buying stuff from my Amazon wish list for the past couple of weeks as prices dropped.

Went to Meijer and got two of the arctic coats for $20 each (regularly $65 each) and five tins of popcorn for $3.96 each (for bosses gifts).

There was a line at Walgreens which was pretty sad because people were buying everyday items on sale such as laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels, which I bought too. Got ibuprofen for 99 cents and four bags of candy for $10 with a $5 coupon that printed out at the register for next visit.

Had fun. Might venture out to Walmart tonight after I get back from dinner.

  2. My price matching experience: I had my son enter several Xbox games, DVDs and trading card packs into the wish list a couple of weeks ago. I checked several times throughout the day each day and when I saw a price drop, I bought it right away because the prices didn't stay low very long (found that out the hard way). BUT, they don't ALWAYS reflect others' sales prices. Example: I had Assassin's Creed Revelation in my wish list but this a.m. still at full price. Was on Best Buy's website (getting that 24" tv) and they have the game for 34.99 with free shipping and on 2.xx for tax, so jumped on that. This game just came out 11/15/11 so I think that is a good price. The new Batman for Xbox is down to $44.xx right now in my wish list but a couple of stores are supposed to have it for as low as $28 later tonight or tomorrow, so going to keep my eye on that one.
  3. Stopped in at the Reynolds Road location. Found Halloween stuff in the far back corner. Loads of chocolate in the boxes they came in marked Trick or Treat, Happy Halloween, etc. Signs all over saying candy 50% off. Get up front with a few bags and they ring up full price. No prob. Go to service desk. They say they are regular merchandise and aren't 50% off. WTH?? Went back and forth and finally had them refund my $$. Did get some kisses and miniature reeses for 1/2 price. I told them they need to move it back to regular aisles or take 1/2 off. Took what I did buy out to my car. Went back in and took pics with my phone of the shelves and signage. Will be contacting corporate shortly.
  4. Mine also had a ton of cleaning supplies and beauty products on first markdown today. Not full aisles, but a lot overall: Electrasol tabs, Swiffer dusters, Kids n Pets carpet cleaner (the best stuff around!), Glade plug-ins, toothbrushes, Burt's Bees stuff, toothpaste, etc.

How much was the Electrasol? I still have a couple of the $2.50 coupons I think are still good for a couple of days.

  5. So do you all think not having a lot left as in the past is due to (1) the stores not stocking a whole lot, (2) people bought a bunch on fri/sat or (3) they boxed the overage and shipped it back? I was at Walmart (yesterday) and Meijer (today) and only managed to get six bag of Kisses at Meijer. Neither store had much of any candy left. Glad I didn't venture out of town to Target this a.m. even tho I was off work. I didn't make it to Kroger. They seemed to have a ton on fri but don't know about now.
  6. What is up with the Holiday Sparkle Barbie? Shouldn't this be considered a Christmas item? The store in Rossford had a ton and they were 6.98 (50% off). Jeez louise! There were several aisles of 30-50% off that probably need condensed...stuff all over the place. Saw one blue and one pink of those FP DVD players. Still $74.xx. I even scanned a few things and nope, no 75%. There are several things I would consider buying if/when they go down more. A lot of 15% household stuff too. Didn't really find much at all but then again, I hate perusing on a Saturday and it was my first chance to stop in in awhile.

Oh, those train tables you've been talking about, the Once Upon a Child in Perrysburg had one yesterday right inside the door. Didn't catch the price but it looked like it was in decent shape.

Here's hoping Wed or Thurs is kind to us:-)

  7. I hope it isn't until next week. Right now we have bad weather (blowing and drifting snow), school delays and closings, and my closest store is 25 minutes away. And we're supposed to get 1-3" more tomorrow into Saturday so won't be traveling out of town until maybe Sunday. Next week, deep freeze so who knows. Last night the weather man said this time last year was 66 degrees. I don't remember that at all but it would be nice to have it again. Fat chance. Never made it to any 90% off but did a bit of damage at 75%, and at Walmart and Kroger too so wasn't really sad to miss 90%. Keep those reports coming in:-)
  8. Yeah, ours went 75% on Saturday. Just happened to walk in to get a prescription and saw the signs. Got two of those big stuffed animals (dogs) for $5 each. Also, stuffed panda chair for 7.50, rocking horse for $10, a couple of disney Barbies, remote control trucks, and some kiddie toys. My cart was overflowing because of the four big items. This was in Bowling Green, OH.

Do you happen to know if this included the big stuffed animals that were $20 originally? Im hoping to snag an elephant for $5. :)

  9. Going to check out my Target as I need a legitimate item. Hope things miracuously become 90% off when I get there. Also, last year, I remember the Target in Rossford, OH went 90% on a Saturday morning (I stopped on my way out of town for a wrestling tournament so it was right at opening) so if it is not today, probably tomorrow since dates shift each calendar year. Only problem is, we are supposed to get an ice storm overnight so I probably won't get there first thing tomorrow.
  10. For you stamper/craft people, last year I got a kit from the craft area that was clearly a Christmas item since the biggest stamp said "Merry Christmas" and it came with several containers of paints too but it kept ringing up full price (19.99). finally, after the rest of xmas went 90%, I took it up with a couple of other random items to a young, male cashier and when it rang up full price, I said "shouldn't that be 90% too?" and he rang it up 1.99 without hesitating. when I found another one at another store, this time the clerk called a mgr but i still got it for 1.99 so take a look in the crafting aisle for this years edition.
  11. Congrats on the new store behind the Polaris Mall in Columbus. I found it today and while the aisles seem smaller than usual, it is brand new and has a Babies R Us attached to it. Have fun on Black Friday all.
